The skin is the barrier that protects the body
against harmful influences. Damage caused by
bacteria, fungal infections, viruses or parasites
can result in skin diseases that require treatment.
Woods lights, also called black lights, are typically
used for assessing changes in skin and hair. In
veterinary practices, magnifier luminaires are also
used routinely to aid in diagnoses or in performing
procedures such as removing foreign bodies or
sutures from the skin.
The DHL 109 M diagnosis light is a handheld woods light. It is used to identify
fluorescent foci of skin diseases and
changes in pigment.
