Clever Costumes and Gothic Ghouls Make for a Great Night
November Highlights
Halloween at the Manor is always a festive time, with Residents and UCSB Students dressed up in costumes and having
a wonderful dance party. With live music by the Ronelles and
tasty treats to eat, this year’s event was up there with the best
ever. And, as always, there are lots of great photos to share,
and this issue of the newsletter is dedicated to that fantastic
party. And many thanks to Kim who brought some of her
family, paid for the live band and provided cakes and ice
cream as well!

The photo below is our “Great Pumpkin” at the center of the
annual “guess the weight” contest. This year’s orange entry
was a monster, weighing over 106 lbs., and the winner guessing nearest the weight was Orin Potter. Good going Orin!!

COSTUME CONTEST AND LOT OF PIX
Every Halloween means a costume contest, with cash prizes going to the top three Residents who
have been the most creative and original, as judged by the applause of everyone at the party. This
year it was a tough call, but the top three prizes went to Shirley Bagwell (a regular winner in past
years), Carol De Bruin and Patricia Kelly. Thanks to everyone who dressed up and congratulations to the top three characters. And special thanks to Inger who also took photos.
