Our 13th Annual Quilt Retreat was so much fun that we’ve booked the motel again for October 20th - 23rd,
2016. $134.99 for a double room and $224.99 for a single room. Please note due to the limited number of spaces

start with warm up exercises to prepare you for stippling, then
stipple. Also covered will be several variations on stippling

During this 8-week course, learn the basics of quilt
making while assembling a queen sized Sampler Quilt top ~
rotary cutting, strip piecing, accurate quick triangle squares,
numerous piecing methods, cutting and attaching borders,
quilting lingo, sashing, the perfect ¼” seam and lots more.
Guidelines for Choosing classes:
Beginner ~ a person with little or no quilting/rotary
cutting/piecing experience.
Beginner/Intermediate ~ a person with quilting/
rotary cutting/piecing experience.
Intermediate ~ a person with sewing/quilting/
rotary cutting/piecing experience, knows how to add
borders & binding or has completed our Beginner’s Class.
Advanced ~ a person with knowledge of piecing,

appliqué will be covered including how to transfer patterns,
the different types of fusible webs, fusing, satin stitch, blanket

sampler features a large pieced centre surrounded by different
pieced Star Blocks. Learn double add-a-corner, curves,
quilting lingo and lots more.

Due to severe allergy problems, we would ask that you do
not wear perfume or scented products to class.

This enticing quilt puts a new spin on the basic four patch unit.
By rotating the four patch placement in a larger block, the

HAND APPLIQUE BASICS - Beginner

Learn the basics of hand appliqué using the Heat
Resistant Mylar method. This method will open up a whole new
world of appliqué. A perfect class for beginners, and even experienced Appliquérs will discover new and exciting things too!
She will be teaching a great method for building your appliqué
pieces that uses starch and Heat Resistant Mylar. You will be
working on shaping leaves, stems and different flower shapes.

These quilts look incredibly difficult, but surprisingly, they
are quite easy to make using the quick-strip method. The
“Bargello” pattern is made from rectangles sewn into peaks
and slopes of gradual colour changes.

Your Circular Attachment is the perfect tool when you want to
make unique embellishments on your sewing projects, garments
and quilts. You can sew simple circles, flowers or parts of circles to create unique edges or graphic patterns. You can also
combine circles of different sizes and create more patterns. The
possibilities are as endless as the circles, it creates!

This is the most traditional looking version of the Trip Around
the World Quilt. This is a simple strip method of sewing strips
together and cutting them apart in different widths. Unlike the
traditional method there are no opposing seams to match!

add professional-looking borders, make and add binding to
a quilt, correct rotary cutting, yardage calculations for
backing, batting and much more! Tips, tricks and hints

FRENCH BRAID CLASS - Intermediate

The “French Braid” technique can produce a fabulous quilt that
looks much more complicated than it is. A quick quilt with dramatic results. The reason French Braid quilts are everywhere is
that they're addictive! Strip piecing and careful shading have
popularized and modernized this traditional pattern. Once you
discover how easy these quilts are, you'll want to make several.

MACHINE TRAPUNTO - Intermediate

The new emphasis on elaborate machine quilting has created a
revival in Trapunto to create dimension in your quilting designs.
Originally the technique was a labour intensive one done after
appliqué or quilting was completed. We will be learning a
method of creating this beautiful effect before the quilt is
quilted. You must be comfortable with free motion machine
quilting for this technique.

In this hands on class, you will learn and gain valuable and
useful information that will give you the confidence to tackle
any quilt. You must have a machine which allows you to drop
the feed dogs.
Saturday May 28th ~ 10:30am - 3:30pm
REGISTRATION: Register in person or by phone. Payment must be
made at this time. Visa or MasterCard are accepted for registration by
phone. Classes are filled on a first-come basis. Classes require a minimum
of 4 – 6 registrants to run and the maximum is 6 - 9. Register early as
some classes fill quickly. When you register for a class, you will receive a
requirement list outlining what you need to bring to class. Cancellation is
allowed up to one week before class begins with full refund. Classes will be
cancelled and fees refunded prior to class date if there is insufficient
registration.

NEW BLOCK OF THE MONTH ~ Winter Wishes by The Stitch Connection
Starting in May, this quilt measures 88" x 100". Winter Wishes features fourteen appliqué blocks that
depict some favourite scenes of the holiday season. In addition to this quilt, the book contains a number of
other quilting projects such as wall hangings, placemats, and stitchery designs as well as gift cards and
tags for the Christmas holiday. You can purchase just the book and/or sign up for the fabrics. A limited
number of kits are available. We will be posting pictures on Facebook of some of the blocks.

Combine your rows in any way to create a unique quilt that represents the fun you had traveling
throughout the summer. Travel with friends, discover new quilt shops and have fun collecting rows.
Create a quilt using at least 8 different 2016 rows from 8 different 2016 participating R x R shops and
be the first to bring it into a participating shop to win a stack of 25 fat quarters. Use that shop’s row in
