LOOKING AHEAD TO THE NEW YEAR!
Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University is coming to Trinity! What would your
life look like if you had NO DEBT and were really IN CONTROL of your money? During this life-changing class, you will learn how to: get control of your money, stop
struggling to make ends meet, tell your money what to do, and change your family’s
future. You’ll meet with your class each week to watch the video lesson and participate
in discussion and accountability groups that will change your whole attitude about
money! Class begins Sunday, February 9, at 3 pm in Rooms A & B, and runs
through April 6. Sign up is required by January 27, to order materials. Materials include a Financial Peace University workbook, budgeting forms, an audio CD library of the sessions, an FPU
envelope system, Dave Ramsey’s book “Financial Peace”, a bonus CD-ROM, and more. For more information, contact Pam Prezioso at [email protected] or 419-289-2126.
Think Piece
Let's think for a moment about giving. Giving should be spontaneous, happy and suited to the moment.
Well....no. Some giving is exactly that way. We come upon a need, we have the ability to help with that
need....so we do, and feel really good!
But for most of us giving should be a thought out process. Where will my money be put to best use? Can I
trust those receiving it? Would God be pleased with where my money is going? How much should I give?
For Judy and me, the day will soon come when we sit down and have "the conversation". We have it each
December. We, long since, decided to give one tenth of our income to the work of the Lord. Each December
we need to ask, "How are we doing?" "Will we make the tithe by December 31? If not, how much should we
be giving and where?"
I hope you will have that conversation also. What percentage have you decided to give? Are you on
track? Are there circumstances in your life this year that make it possible, and delightful, to give more?
So, by all means let's have happy, spontaneous time when we simply say, "Here, I hope this helps!" But as
followers of Jesus we also need to be thoughtful, consistent and determined. Otherwise, we become entrenched in our self-centeredness and are a disappointment to the Lord.
In Christ,
Pastor Mitchell
