an Assistant Manager in Newcastle to Assistant Manager of our
flagship store in the Metro Centre, Gateshead and is now Store
Manager for Durham.

Leonie has progressed in her time with Ann Summers from Team
Leader at our flagship store in Oxford Street to Assistant Manager
in the Harrow Store and is now the Store Manager for Watford.

Aimee has progressed through the Academy in her own store of
Bexleyheath. She joined Ann Summers as a Sales Consultant
there, progressed to Assistant Manager and is now the Store

time Sales Consultant, to a Team Leader, to an Assistant Manager and also a company Training Manager,
I then became Store Manager of Wigan and won 2nd place Store Manager of the Year 2005!
I moved up to a store manager of a flagship store (Liverpool), and was also a Communications Manager for
my Area. I developed into an Area Manager and achieved Area Manager of the year 2008! Then I went on
to achieve 2nd place Area Manager of the Year 2009! Ann Summers has given me so many opportunities
over the years to develop and progress and has supported me to achieve all my goals!”

Retail Bonus. “The Big Package” is designed to allow your earnings to be uncapped. For every whole 1% that your store
overachieves its sales target in each quarter, you will have the potential to receive 1% of the total hours worked for that quarter as a
bonus payment. To receive your full bonus potential you also need to have achieved the required measure for two KPI’s (wage costs as a
percentage to sales, and ATV). If these measures are not achieved Retail Management will receive 60% of the bonus due (with the other
40% being reliant equally between the two KPI’s).
The story so far
Ann Summers is the high street’s leading pleasure retailer –
a position held for over 30 years. The Gold family acquired
Ann Summers in 1972 when there were only two stores.
The business grew steadily until 1981 when David Gold’s
daughter, Jacqueline, introduced the Ann Summers Party Plan
concept and a phenomenon was born!
In addition, Annsummers.com is one of the most successful
e-tailer websites in the UK. In 2000, Ann Summers acquired
specialist lingerie store Knickerbox and today, nearly every
Ann Summers store includes a Knickerbox concession.
To date, expansion has included stores in Ireland, Spain and
the Channel Islands. In addition, Ann Summers has revealed
a new store concept, the most feminine and sexy shopping
experience on the High Street.

What can you expect?
When you join your store team you will continue to have
support from your Line Manager and follow up visits from your
Academy Development Manager to successfully complete your
Academy of Passion training. Managers and Assistant Managers
will also have the opportunity to attend retail training courses
delivered in your region.

• In order for you to receive a payment you must be in our employment at the point of the bonus being paid, and you cannot be
under notice.
• The calculation of the bonus payment will be based upon actual hours worked in the quarterly period (not contractual hours),
to a maximum of 39 hours per week.
• Any paid holiday taken during the period does not represent non-attendance, and therefore contracted hours will apply
for periods of annual leave.
• All payments are subject to Income Tax & NIC / Social Security deductions, as applicable.
Throughout your six-month induction period you will have
regular feedback, support and formal probation reviews from
your Line Manager.
At the end of your induction, you’ll receive an Academy of
Passion certificate of recognition and you will get the opportunity
to discuss what further training you may need to complete.

Employee Assistance Programme.
“Gold Group
International Assist” is a free, confidential telephone counselling
and legal advisory service that operates 24 hours a day,
365 days a year, and is available to all employees and their
families. To use the service you need to telephone 0845 120 1421
and quote code number 71187.
Holiday Purchase Scheme.
From the 1st of July you
may choose to purchase up to one week’s additional holiday.
The value of any holiday purchased will reduce your gross
annual pay, and will be deducted equally over the 12 months
of the scheme year. The value of any holiday purchased is not
liable for Income Tax or NIC.
Maternity Bonus Scheme. Expectant mothers will have
the opportunity to receive a cash bonus as an incentive to return
to work early from their Maternity Leave. This maternity bonus
can be as much as 20% of your quarterly salary!
This scheme also applies to an adoptive parent where the
employee is the main carer. Further information regarding this
benefit, together with the rules of the scheme, is available on
the Ann Summers Information Portal.
Childcare Voucher Scheme. Are you paying for
childcare and, if so, did you know that you could save on the cost
of your childcare by using Computershare Voucher Services?
These vouchers are flexible: you can use them to pay for a wide
range of childcare services. And, because they are exempt from
Income Tax and NIC, they may help you to reduce the cost
of your childcare. For further details contact Computershare

• The “Big Package” is paid out at the end of October, January, April and July.
• Payment will not be made for periods of non-attendance during each quarter. For the purposes of the bonus scheme,
non-attendance is defined as: sickness absence, unauthorised absence, unpaid absence/leave, maternity,
paternity and adoption leave.
Your Induction
Everyone who joins Ann Summers automatically begins on
The Academy of Passion. As a new Manager or Assistant
Manager your initial induction will be a 10 day training programme
held at one of our training stores. Your dedicated trainer will give
you the opportunity to learn everything you need to know to be a
successful member of the Ann Summers management team.
Terms and conditions
Ann Summers & Knickerbox have teamed up with
the online benefits provider Perkz to offer employees and their
families discounts at well-known leading retailers. In order to
access them you will need to register at the Perkz website
(registration and usage are free of charge). To register go to
www.perkz.com and click on the message that states “If you
are a first time user click here”. You will then be asked for your
company code… this is ASKX. Follow the on-line instructions to
complete the rest of the process.
• The ‘Big Package’ bonus is a non-contractual scheme, and can be varied from time to time without consultation.

• Personal Group Hospital Plan
The Hospital Plan pays benefits for overnight hospitalisation
from the first night – wherever you are in the world. This means
you’ll get more than medicine and hospital treatment to help
you get better, you’ll have the extra payment as well. Enrolment
to this plan is made annually on 1st September.
• “Your Choice” Benefits
As a member of the Personal Group Hospital Plan you will

If you become a member of our approved pension scheme with
Friends Provident, then the Company will match your personal
contribution of 2%. Enrolment is not automatic, but is subject to the
satisfactory completion of the relevant scheme application form.

Private Medical Insurance (“Choices”)
The Company will pay for the cost of private medical insurance
on your behalf. Our PMI provider will pay treatment charges
and other benefits stated in their Table of Benefits. Enrolment is
