ThalesRaytheonSystems is the world
specialist in ground based military
radars from short-range battlefield
air surveillance to long-range air
surveillance, including extended air
defense and weapon locating radars.
GM 200
The Ground Master 200 (GM 200) is
a multi-mission tactical 3-D mediumrange Air Defense radar. This mobile
radar is dedicated to the protection of
key assets and deployed forces.
The GM 200 offers outstanding
performance in terms of warning delay and tracking
accuracy on high maneuvering targets.
With full 3-D coverage, the GM 200 is a dual-use radar that
can switch instantaneously between the extended range
surveillance mode to the shorter range engagement mode.
The GM 200 radar has an option to track rockets, mortars
and missiles (detection, impact prediction and launch point
computation).
The GM 200 radar is a single 20 ft ISO shelter and
operates on a truck.
The GM 200 radar can integrate two operator positions
within a C4I solution to manage air defense assets and can
be used as a stand alone sensor (operation ready with two
people in less than 15 minutes).
The Ground Master (GM) family architecture is based on
common building blocks and interfaces, a Stacked Beam
Concept and Digital Beam Forming, providing complete
range and altitude coverage. For ease of maintenance,
the GM radars can be remotely monitored using a
standard protocol underpinned by cyber solutions.
GM 400
The Ground Master 400 (GM 400) is a
3-D long-range Air Defense radar,
offering detection from very high to very
low altitudes. It tracks a wide range of
targets from highly maneuverable
tactical aircraft flying below several
hundred feet to the unconventional small radar crosssection device as Unmanned Air Vehicles or cruise missiles,
ensuring an excellent global air picture.
The GM 400 can be associated with different secondary
radars providing air traffic control capabilities, and can also
integrate Tactical Ballistic Missiles detection and tracking
capabilities.
GM 400 includes an Electronic Counter Measures feature
to cope with the most severe electronic warfare
environment including decoy device capabilities, while the
S-band represents the better choice considering EW (wider
bandwidth) and civilian application interference constraints.
The GM 400 fits inside a single 20 ft ISO container and can
be rapidly deployed.
AN/MPQ-64 F1
Improved Sentinel
The AN/MPQ-64 F1 Improved Sentinel
is a 3-D, phased-array highly mobile and
tactical X-band radar system. Offering
protection from low to medium
altitudes, it has an air surveillance
range of up to 120 km.
The Sentinel provides medium-range detection in harsh
terrain, plus precise rocket-artillery-mortar detection.
Sentinel’s versatility encompasses air defense, air
surveillance, counter-rocket and mortar sense-and-warn
missions.
The Sentinel supports a multitude of advanced weapon
systems such as NASAMS, HAWK and Stinger missilebased SHORAD weapons and a variety of indigenous
VSHORAD missile systems and air defense guns.
A well-established, low-risk technology modernization
roadmap ensures effectiveness against current and
future airborne threats.
Requiring a combat crew of two personnel, Sentinel can
operate autonomously at remote sites or integrated into
remote command and control systems. Sentinel is an
extremely flexible, lightweight and highly mobile radar
system that can be moved off road, helicopter transported
or rapidly transported by cargo aircraft to remote locations.
AN/TPQ-36 Firefinder
The AN/TPQ-36 Firefinder is an X-band,
medium-range weapon-locating radar
system. This radar is lightweight, highly
mobile and highly efficient in the precise
location and impact prediction of
rockets, artillery and mortars.
The AN/TPQ-36 Firefinder has a range up to 24 km,
providing pinpoint targeting data against hostile weapon
locations and counter battery fires. The AN/TPQ-36
Firefinder can be emplaced and operational within
15 minutes and march-ordered in five minutes by a crew
of two.
Building on the radar’s mature proven technology, the
system now shares a state of the art COTS-based radar
processor with the AN/TPQ-37 Firefinder radar. These
improvements translate to lower system life cycle costs
and higher reliability. The radar’s reliability and
maintainability are simplified by computer controlled, built-in
test equipment which provides for an exceptionally high
system availability.
While five personel are assigned to a combat crew to
provide 24 hour operational capability, the AN/TPQ-36 can
be operated by a single operator. It is designed to operate
in direct support of forward combat units and is
transportable via tactical transport aircraft, helicopters and
a variety of tactical vehicles.
AN/TPQ-37 Firefinder
The AN/TPQ-37 Firefinder is an
S-band, long-range weapon-locating
radar. Similar in operation to the
medium-range AN/TPQ-36 Firefinder,
the larger AN/TPQ-37 is highly
accurate against long-range hostile
weapons and extended range for friendly counter battery
fire adjustments.
AN/TPQ-37 Firefinder
R M I S h e lt e r
In addition to supporting all radar
operations, the advantage of the newly
available RMI Operations Control Group
shelter, which uses next-generation
technology, is that it gives training and
tactical units’ commanders the flexibility of a standalone
training device, independent of radar system.
The AN/TPQ-37 Firefinder provides weapon location
capability up to 50 kilometers instrumented range.
Operated by five combat crew, the AN/TPQ-37 Firefinder
can be emplaced and operational in 30 minutes and
march-ordered in 15 minutes. Its size and weight enable it
to be towed and carried by a variety of vehicles as well as a
C-130 transport aircraft.
The newest model of the AN/TPQ-37, called Reliability
Maintainability Improvement (RMI), uses advanced
technology updates to extend service life and reduce life
cycle cost. The RMI incorporates a modular, air-cooled
transmitter and COTS-based radar processor. RMI
upgrades can be applied to existing AN/TPQ-37 radars
as well as new production radars.
