Christmas Bird Count

It’s the National Audubon Society’s 114 annual Christmas Bird Count! The longest running Citizen Science survey in the
world, the Christmas Bird Count provides critical data on population trends. You can register for the area around your
house and participate from the comfort of your living room, or you can venture out into a different part of the count
circle. If you’re a beginner, we’ll pair you up with a more experienced birder. Pre-registration is required for this event.

There is a pre-sale for PEEC members on Friday, May 9, from 6-8pm. Choose from a variety of native and deer resistant
flowers, shrubs and grasses to beautify your yard. Perennials include coneflowers, bee balm, asters, foxglove, yarrow,
cranesbill, lungwort, and much more. Sun loving and shade loving plants will be available. Call in advance with your
requests. Reduced price plants will be sold throughout the following week – stop by and check them out!
Native Plant Gardening Weekend!
