Generations of Flying
High
Kayla Taff
While sitting at the dinner table one
evening listening to her great uncle, Kayla
Taff knew she wanted to be a pilot. Kayla's
great uncle, Tom Taff, was a captain for
American Airlines. Even though she was

house and knew Prosser's aviation
program would facilitate her ambition.
She is excited about the practical flight knowledge she gains from aviation
instructor, David Cook. Because many pilots are soon to retire, Kayla knows a
high demand will exist for her career pathway. She hopes to attend Purdue
University (her great uncle's alma mater) to major in Professional Flight and
minor in Airport Management. Her time at Prosser will expedite her career
readiness with ten flight hours through Honaker Aviation and eighteen credits in
Aircraft Operations/Flight through Vincennes University. Kayla is a tour guide
for Prosser Career Education Center and holds a 4.7 GPA at Floyd Central High
School while pursuing the Indiana Academic Honors Diploma.

Josh Washington
Josh Washington is a Prosser Culinary
Arts student who recently competed in the
state ProStart culinary team contest. Not
only was Prosser's team awarded a gold
medal for their originality and creation of
the three-course menu items, the judge
highly praised Josh's Candy Apple
Blueberry Crumble dessert stating, "I am
speechless; this is the best dessert I've ever
tasted." Josh admits he originally enrolled
in the culinary arts program with an
interest to just learn cooking. However,
after learning how to prepare so many
types of entrees, desserts, and other dishes
as well as actively participating in
numerous successful catering events, Josh
plans to make food and food service a
lifelong career pathway. Graduating in
June with a Technical Honors Diploma
and a PRIDE Work Ethic Certificate, Josh
will attend Johnson and Wales
International Baking & Pastry Institute in
Denver, Colorado to pursue his goal of
becoming a chef and hospitality manager.
Josh is a Jeffersonville High
School student and the son of
