Emma and Nick flew to Portugal for a
sunshine celebration, thanks to a team
of Cheshire wedding professionals
It is possible to get married in the
sunshine using your local suppliers.
We knew we wanted to get married
abroad and once we found Portugal it
ticked every box.
When we saw the Sheraton Algarve
we just knew it was the venue for us.
The view was breathtaking and we
were very lucky to get married
overlooking the ocean.
We were lucky enough to have
Julie Arnold, Nick’s mum, who is the
director of Entertainment Today and
a very experienced wedding planner,
to organise our day to the final detail.
She took away all the stress of a
wedding and made the build-up such
a pleasant experience. She really did
help us to achieve our dream
wedding.
All the wedding items were
sourced in Cheshire and shipped over
170 bride magazine
to Portugal the week before the
wedding, and shipped back
afterwards, it was that simple. Even
the photographer, entertainment and
staff flew over.
The day went better than we could
ever have imagined, it was wonderful
in every way. My pre-wedding nerves
instantly vanished when I saw Nick at
the end of the aisle, with our nearest
and dearest watching us take our
vows. The ceremony area was
beautiful, the flowers were stunning
and the view was magnificent, it
really was like something off a
postcard.
On entering the Sunset Deck,
where the wedding breakfast was
held, I got goosebumps. Julie and her
team had worked their magic and
transformed it into a breathtaking
area for us and our guests to enjoy.

Choices
It took me a while to find
my perfect dress but
finally I found it, and after
a few alterations I knew it
was the one, Cheshire
Bridal Wear were amazing
and very patient.
We opted for an aqua green
colour which looked amazing
in the sun. The stationery went
perfectly and was exactly what
we had had in mind.
We moved down to the
beach restaurant for our
evening reception and it
was just perfect dancing
with the sea breeze in
our hair.
The photographer, Mike Petch,
captured every moment
without being obtrusive and
has given us beautiful photos
we will be able to treasure
forever.
Magic moment
All the speeches were very entertaining
and there was a good mixture of laughter
and emotion. The best man, Matthew,
Nick’s brother who is a musician even
wrote and performed a song for us on the
guitar which was very personal and
something you don’t see at every wedding.
