A Look Toward the Future
First, I would like to extend a “Happy New Year” to all of our customers. I hope 2015 is off to a prosperous
start to all. Secondly, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to all of you who have sent congratulatory
wishes to me via phone, email, cards, or in person. Since the transition took place on October 1st, 2014, it has
been a really exciting time for The Savings Bank. I could not have envisioned a better time to take the reins of
this great institution. The Savings Bank is blessed with a dedicated Board of Directors, committed employees,
interested shareholders, and great customers.
On January 20, 2015, The Savings Bank opened their newest branch located at 201 N.
Court St., Circleville, OH. It has been a yearlong project that came to fruition due to
the commitment of all the stakeholders named previously. On behalf of the bank, I
truly appreciate the community’s patience during this project. I know at times that
traffic patterns were disrupted, debris was in the streets, and dust was flying. Again, I
truly appreciate everyone’s patience during the last 18 months.
We are very proud of the addition to downtown Circleville, and we hope it is just the
beginning of many new things to come to this town. Furthermore, I hope our customers enjoy the banking
experience at our new location. Additionally, we will continue our full-service operations at the original
location of 118 N. Court St. in Circleville. Whether you bank at our new location, old location, Ashville, or
Williamsport, I hope that you continue to have a great banking experience.

The Savings Bank President
The Savings Bank Earns 5-Star Rating
for 97th Consecutive Quarter
In December, The Savings Bank, Circleville, Ohio was again recognized as one of
the strongest banks in the nation by BAUER-FINANCIAL, Coral Gables, Florida, the
nation’s leading bank rating and research firm. Having maintained a 5-Star rating for this length of time
earns The Savings Bank an even more elite designation as a “Sustained Superiority Bank.” Only 6% of
the nation’s banks have earned Bauer’s top rating for so long and with such consistency. “Local decisions,
responsive service and a dedication to making the community a better place to live. These are the hallmarks
of community banks, and they are alive and thriving at The Savings Bank,” champions Karen L. Dorway,
president of BauerFinancial. “Community banks have an understanding of what the community needs
and provide the financial support tailored to those needs. The money deposited into a community bank is
loaned back out to the community. It all stays local.”

TIPS
A New Year Means New Scams
As we become more tech savvy, more
and new scams are popping up while
old ones refuse to go away.
Beware of companies or
individuals calling, messaging,
or emailing you who ask for
your personal and banking
information. Telephones and the
Internet make it easy for people
to pretend that they are someone
they are not. For example, the IRS
and Reader’s Digest will not call
you asking for information such as
your social security number, bank
account number, or credit/debit
card information. If you receive a
call from someone claiming to be
with these or other companies who
asks for this information, please DO
NOT GIVE IT TO THEM.
Individuals can also pose a scam
online. Reports have been made of
people pretending to be someone
they are not and gaining the trust of
an unsuspecting person online. This
person will then ask for personal
information, with the intent of
getting money. The scammer
may also directly ask for money
to be wired to them for whatever
reason. NEVER give out personal
information such as your social
security or bank account number
over the phone, email, text, or social
media. If information is necessary,
make sure that you know with
whom you are speaking and give
out information in person whenever
possible.
If you realize too late that
something is a scam and
information has already been given
out, please report it to the local
authorities AND inform your bank
immediately.

one of our largest fundraisers of the year,” Hannahs explained. Croyle added
that she believes the event helps the community come together, from the
children there to get their picture with Santa to the adults who accompany
them.
Food Drive Results
Holiday expenses, taxes, insurance? Start
the year with a home equity loan or line of
credit to help consolidate those year-end
expenses into one convenient payment.
The Savings Bank conducted its annual food drive at
all bank locations to collect food for the local pantries
during the holiday season. The bank also donated 25¢ for
every item collected, donating a total of $2,046.25. The
Williamsport office collected the most items, with 5,770
items donated during the drive for the Williamsport United
Methodist Church Food Pantry. The Pickaway County
Food Pantry also received 1,865 items that were collected at
the main office. The Ashville offices collected a combined
550 items that were delivered to the Ashville Food Pantry.
Thanks to everyone who helped make our Food Drive a
huge success again this year.

in attendance and participated in the silent auction. Entertainment was
provided by the talented students of Marty Hayes from Studio One /
X-Perience Music. Toys for Tots is a partner agency of the United Way of
