“When you appreciate and preserve the ordinary as well as the exceptional,
you fill in the full spectrum of History.” Mark L. Walsh
Farm welcomes two new members to animal family
The farm recently adopted two horses
from a small horse rescue organization.
Both are quarter horses from Oregon
where their previous owners just got too
elderly to be able to care for them anymore. We are delighted to be able to
take over their care and give them a nice
home. Lakota (pictured on the right) is a
20 year old gelding, and Brave (pictured
left) is a 25 year old mare. Both have
great dispositions and seem to enjoy interacting with the public. The pair made
lots of friends during pumpkin season
last fall. The school children especially
were excited about the new additions.
Country Life Fair back again
April 30-May 1, 2016
We will be hosting our third annual Country
Life Fair and Herb and Plant Sale once
again this spring. The event will be held
April 30-May 1, Sat 10am-4pm and Sun
11am-4pm.
This event is an excellent “family fun” activity for kids and adults of all ages. Pomeroy
Farm will be selling herb plants and organic
vegetable plants, and a variety of vendors
will be selling their wares.
If you are interested in being a vendor,
please contact Pomeroy Farm at
[email protected] or 360686-3537. Vendor fee is $50.00 if booked
by April 1.
Still partnering with Fred Meyer
Thank you to those of you who have linked
your Fred Meyer rewards with us! It’s a
great way to help PLHF earn a little extra
money, and has no effect on your personal
rewards! Fred Meyer donates $2.6 million
dollars a year to local non profits. By signing
up with FM Rewards, you’re able to “vote”
for Pomeroy Farm as a organization for Fred
Meyer to donate to! This does not affect
your personal rewards in anyway. You’re
simply telling FM you support Pomeroy
Farm, and they donate the money to us!

Spring 2016
Come for tea and enjoy a relaxing early afternoon on the Farm. After the luncheon, you might enjoy
a short respite under our new garden gazebo, or a visit to the historic log house. The main floor will
be seasonally decorated, while the second floor focuses on a “walk through time” with the five bedrooms displaying artifacts from specific decades of Pomeroy family and Lucia Valley history from the
1920’s through the 1970’s. This year’s special exhibit features a circa 1920’s school room.
