About Company
Architectural bureau ‘Studio 44’ is one of the largest
Russia. The studio’s team consists of over 120 highly
restoration experts, structural designers, engineers).
Twenty specialists are currently running and coordinating ongoing projects and acting as chief architects,
chief structural designers and chief structural engineers.
The company has both the human resources and
the capacity to perform the whole cycle of project
stages – from concept planning and preliminary
designs to drafting – and to prepare the complete
set of design- and budget-related documentation.
‘Studio 44’ has an extensive experience in acting as
general designer and coordinating contractor work.
We provide a range of services including technical support during approvals and state inspection
of design and budget documentation, as well as architectural supervision of the construction process.

We specialize in designing large public venues and
multifunctional centers. The portfolio of Studio 44 includes such successfully implemented projects as the
Ladozhsky Railway Station, Atrium Business Center at
Nevsky 25, Nevsky 38 and Linkor business centers, the
Grand Palace shopping gallery, the Novy Peterhof hotel, the new museum complex of the State Hermitage
Dance Academy, Palace of Schoolchildren (Astana, Kazakhstan), and Olympic Park Railway Station in Sochi.
Nikita Yavein was born in 1954. After graduating
from Engineering and Construction Institute (1977)
Nikita Yavein accumulated extensive experience in
several design institutions. In 1991 he launched
an architectural practice of his own. In 1994 Nikita
Yavein become a chairman of St. Petersburg Committee for the State Inspection and Protection of
Historical Monuments. In 2003 he left the post to
concentrate entirely on his architectural practice.

ture made of spatial trussed arches. In layout, the arches are slid one towards the
other, intertwined only in some points of
the span and merge with each other on
various heights. The resulting dynamic
outlines of the vaults are distinctively articulate of the visuality of the sport – athletic wrestlers with their bodies interlaced
in the dramatic opposition of the combat.
The Palace for 5 000 spectators will
host top level combat & wrestling competitions. A two-storey stylobate of
the building will contain the entire infrastructure for sportsmen, visitors, referees, journalists, representatives of
World sports organizations, etc. The
roof of the stylobate will act as a walkafoyer in Summer time and direct accesses to the arena seats. Thus, the space
will operate as an open air public area,
or as a raised above ground viewing
platform accessed via sloping stairs.
