the twins visit, a custom bench and a single armed basket
swing, which all of the grandchildren can enjoy.

One of Pro-mats recent commissions was a recently devised
small-scale scheme that made an incredible difference to
one family in the Midlands. After being approached by a
customer in Birmingham, the group of experts were more
than happy to fulfil her specific gardening request and so
took the job with great enthusiasm and determination.
After consulting with the client, her landscaping demands
became apparent: having just secured long-term foster
care of a young autistic child with a keen appreciation of
textures and the outdoors – exploring winding pathways
and feeling different textures – she wanted to transform
her garden into a safe haven where her little girl could
play freely and contentedly. Because she was currently
undergoing cancer treatment, the customer had become
progressively more frustrated that she couldn’t always take
her daughter to the local park and so needed a solution that
was much more convenient for them both.
The Pro-mats team set to work and managed to successfully
create a visually pleasing garden space that met all of the set
criteria. The effect of the different textures was accomplished
by applying four separate types of artificial grass and a
bonded rubber pathway, which circled in various directions in
order to satisfy the client’s brief in its totality. Further additions
included artificial grass footsteps in the rubber pathway (to
provide yet another texture transition) and the installation of a
new gate to ensure the area was safely secured.

With over 50 years of experience in the Building Industry
and almost 20 years’ experience in SIPs and associated
industries, owners Leslie Crossley and Peter Clamp set
up the company in 2011. It has since developed into a
well-established company renowned for their high quality
products and outstanding customer service.
“At SuperSIPs, we strive to provide the best,” explained
Leslie. “With SIPs being suitable for such a wide variety of
buildings, no job is too small or too large. We can help with
the integration or combination of many complimentary
products from Ground Source Heat Pumps to Under Floor
Heating, from Mechanical Ventilation & Heat Recovery,
to Solar Hot Water. SIPs provide the ideal Building Fabric
for the incorporation of many energy and money saving
products.”
The SIPS (Structural Insulated Panels) are produced using a
facing of OSB (oriented stranded board) with a filling of PUR
(polyurethane) insulation. These panels provide a labour and
material-saving alternative to traditional timber frame or
masonry construction. The insulation used in these panels
is continuous and is not bridged by timber studs. This type
of panel has been in use for over 60 years and they offer an
energy efficient building system that substantially reduces
on-site labour times and cost.
There is a wide range of panels to choose from, with
thickness varying from 100mm to 250mm in 25mm
increments, and U Values from 0.27w/m2k down to 0.10w/
m2k. Panels are produced to the client’s length thus saving
on wastage and are made using 11mm OSB sheet, unlike
competitors using 15mm, which means the thermal
efficiency of these panels is greater due to more foam
in all panels.
SuperSIPs has recently completed extensive trails on a
new Fire Proof SIPS with British Gypsum and, using their
Glassrock Rigidur H, managed to achieve 59 minutes in a 30
minute Fire Test at a UKAS Test Centres.
In addition to their advanced product range, SuperSIPs offer
a full design and engineering service and can custom build
panels if required. RTA (ready to assemble) panels can be
provided by pre-cutting rough openings, edges, angles, and
other complex shapes which are then delivered to your site
ready for installation. The company can also advise you
and/or your builder how to proceed with the construction.
With SuperSIPs you can plan to meet, or exceed, current
Building regulations and the amendments planned for 2016.

Performance, Air-Tightness and low levels of Waste; as well
as speedy on-site erection and reduced construction costs.
“In terms of the future, we have recently opened a new
factory at Waldringfield in order to cater to the growing
demand for our products and are currently seeking a new
location and are looking at an 11 acres site.
