Cagliari (Sardinia)
Cagliari is a cosmopolitan working city surrounding
an evocative medieval centre where taverns and
restaurants casually spill out onto the many cobbled
piazzas. The 6km Poetto Beach is the longest stretch
of beach in Italy and forms an integral part of the
life of the Cagliaritani. In summer it has a cheerful
holiday atmosphere and is lined with funfairs,
restaurants, bars and discos. The southern end is
undoubtedly the most popular, with its picturesque
Marina Piccola yacht club. The hilltop citadel is
Cagliari’s most iconic image, its domes, towers and
palazzo are rising above the sturdy ramparts built
by the Pisans and Aragonese. Inside the battlements,
the old medieval city reveals itself like Pandora’s
box. The university, cathedral, museums and Pisan
palaces are wedged into a jigsaw of narrow highwalled alleys. Sleepy though it may seem, the area
harbours a growing crop of boutiques, bars and
cafes. The neighbourhood is known to locals as Su
Casteddu, a term also used to describe the whole
city.
Civitavecchia (Rome)
Civitavecchia is basically the port of Rome in the
Italian region of Lazio. A sea port on the Tyrrhenian
Sea, it is located 80 kilometres (50 miles) west-northwest of Rome, across the Mignone river. The harbour
is formed by two piers and a breakwater, on which
there is a lighthouse. The name Civitavecchia means
“ancient town”. The harbour was constructed by the
Emperor Trajan at the beginning of the 2nd century.
The first occurrence of the name Centum Cellae is
from a letter by Pliny the Younger (AD 107). The
origin of the name is disputed: it has been suggested
that it could refer to the centum (“hundred”) halls
of the villa of the emperor. Next to the town is the
location of the cruise ship docks that service all of the
Rome area. All major cruise lines start and end their
cruises at this location, and many others stop for
shore excursion days that allow guests to see Rome
and Vatican sights, which are about 90 minutes
away.
Savona (Italian Riviera)
This northern province of the Liguria Region
forms the north shore of the Italian Riviera. Savona
province was once known as a very important centre
of iron and brass working for many centuries. Today
the main industry is tourism, with many thousands
of sun-worshippers visiting the local beaches every
year. The capital city, Savona, is a port that has
been a rival of Genoa since the middle-ages. It was,
in fact, all but destroyed several times with the
harbour blocked by sunken ships. The city was also
bombed during World War II and suffered a great
deal of damage. However, despite all of this, the
city is now one of Italy’s largest ports and exports
many products to both the UK and the US including,
amongst other things, Italian cars. Away from the
port, the medieval centre is still intact. The main
focus is on the impressive Priamàr fortress. This vast
stronghold overlooks the sea and was built in the
16th century by the Genoese.
Marseille (French Riviera)
The port city of Marseille is the third largest city in
France and here modern style meets history. The bay,
flanked by Fort Saint-Nicolas, and Fort Saint-Jean
shelters the Chateau d’If, of Count of Monte Cristo
fame. The city is watched over by the basilica NotreDame-de-la-Garde and offers a large pedestrian
zone filled with department stores, shopping areas
(including the colourful French-African quarter) and
a mix with historical sites. Founded 2600 years
ago, the oldest city in France combines the richness
of a unique heritage, an intense cultural life and
an exceptional location. Sometimes affectionate,
sometimes rebellious, she loves to seduce the visitor
who cannot resist the charm of 111 different districts,
the mild climate and the secrets of its gastronomy. It
is a port city with a strong identity, and has also kept
abreast of the changes throughout time to become
an important capital of the Mediterranean Basin
open to the world.
Ajaccio (Corsica)
Best known as the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte,
the town of Ajaccio dates back centuries before the
French leader’s birth. It is now the capital of Corsica
with a population of around 62,000, the fourth
largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. One of its
first buildings was the 15th century fortress built
on the town’s peninsula which are still visible today.
Although Ajaccio is rich in history, it is also world
renowned due to being the birthplace of Napoleon
Bonaparte. Today, the city’s main street is Cours
Napoleon in honour of this great leader. The home
where he was born on 15th August 1769 and lived
until he left the island is called Maison Bonaparte
and located in the Old Town. The Town Hall houses
the Napoleon Museum and contains various statues
and paintings recalling Napoleon’s famous career.
The Ajaccio Cathedral, built in late 1500, is well
noted for its Venetian Renaissance style as well for
its ties with Napoleon. The Corsican red coral is
world known while the traditional Corsican knife is
historically considered as the ‘Symbol of Respect’.
Other typical local products include the mixed herbs
from the wild bush, the Canistrellis which is a typical
dry biscuit and the fig jam.

Salerno (Costa Amalfitana)
Salerno is a city overwhelmed by history and
traditions, a city of extraordinary beauty, not only
for its landscapes but also for its architecture. The
Scuola Medica Salernitana was one of the most
important and renowned medical schools in the
middle-ages, with scientists who drew directly
on ancient Greek and Arab knowledge. Salerno
is also known as Hippocratica Civitas (city of
Hippocrates, the famous Greek physician) in honour
of the importance of Salerno among the history of
medicine. Furthermore, it is this school that gave
origin to the modern University that takes pride
of place in Salerno today. Nearby places, which
can be visited on optional excursions, include the
spectacular Costa Amalfitana and the historic site of
Pompei.
Capri
Capri is an Italian island of stunning beauty in the
Tyrrhenian Sea off the Sorrentine Peninsula, on the
south side of the Gulf of Naples, in the Campania
region of Southern Italy. It has been a resort since
the time of the Roman Republic. It is luxuriant,
extraordinary island that boasts a wonderful climate,
and one in which many world famous artists and
novelists have produced their best pieces of work.
Features of the island are the Marina Piccola (the
little harbour), the Belvedere of Tragara, which is
a high panoramic promenade lined with villas, the
limestone crags called sea stacks that project above
the sea (the Faraglioni), Anacapri, high on the hills to
the west , the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra), and the
ruins of the Imperial Roman villas.
Propriano, Corsica
Propriano is a commune in the Corse-du-Sud region
of France on the island of Corsica. It is situated
on the Valinco Gulf. Trees cover nearly half the
Corsica countryside where Propriano and Sartene
are located. The mountain peaks reach a height of
2,700 metres - all encircled by 965 kilometres of
an enchanting coastline. Propriano is a haven for
watersports lovers. Apart from wonderful sunshine,
the qualities that make Corsica so special are its rich
variety of people, scenery, traditions and dialects.
The town mainly comprises discordant, pastelwashed apartment blocks, gaudy shops, cafes and
restaurants and intimate, curving, sandy beaches.
Propriano is known for its fantastic beaches and its
unique atmosphere.

The city is now-a-days one of Italy’s largest ports
and is home to Costa’s cruise terminal. Away from
the port, the medieval centre still remains. The main
focus is on the impressive Priamàr fortress. This vast
stronghold overlooks the sea and was built in the
16th century by the Genoese.
Toulon is a medium sized city between Marseille
and Nice. It is in the west of the French Riviera
and in the southeast of Provence. A visit to the
harbour and its promenade is a must; the folk of old
Provence, the typical accent of locals, the numerous
souvenir shops, coffee shops and fish restaurants
must be experienced. Visit the statue of the Spirit
of Navigation pointing at the sea, locally known as
“cul vers ville” for its buttocks are turned toward
the city. The statue was hidden and thought lost,
during WWII, until it was found by chance in a local
carpenter’s shop who returned it to the authorities.
The fourth largest French city on the Mediterranean
coast, Toulon is renowned for wine making, fishing
and manufacture of aeronautical and electronic
equipment
Olbia, Sardinia
Trapani, Sicily
Catania, Sicily
Portoferraio is the capital and the largest port on
the island of Elba, previously named Fabricia by the
Romans. The layout of Portoferraio was designed by
Cosimo I dei Medici who, after changing the town’s
name to Cosmopoli in 1548, also built the town’s
defences. Perched high above the town is “Forte
Stella” (star fortress) which derived its name from
the star-like formation of its walls. From here, besides
admiring the panorama of the port below, one can
enjoy a bird’s eye view of the “Villa dei Mulini”,
the winter residence of the exiled French emperor
Napoleon Bonaparte. Although Napoleon’s exile on
Elba was brief (ten months), the Emperor left behind
a considerable cultural and historical legacy. These
treasures can be viewed in the villa of San Martino
and the museum of Demidoff. Napoleon, whilst on
Elba, and built an important theatre and many of the
island’s main roads
Sardinia is famous for its crystal clear turquoise and
azure waters and Olbia is no exception. The beauty
of its beaches is simply breath-taking. It is a place to
relax and unwind. The town is then an interesting
blend of history, culture, fashion and shopping. The
mountains give a backdrop to some amazing views
on the island, and there are many cliffs that fall
steeply to the ocean waters, providing spectacular
panorama. In the town of Olbia itself, there are
historic remains from the Roman era, in particular,
the ancient city walls and the famous thermal
baths. The church of San Simplicio is another
interesting structure, and is actually the oldest and
most significant religious monument in the Gallura
region. It is a Romanesque church, but is also
slightly different, as its façade depicts architectural
influences from the Lombardy and Tuscany regions
as well.
Located on the western coast of Sicily, Trapani is a
fishing and ferry port with a long history. The town
is renowned for its fine seafood and Sicilian cuisine.
Out at the tip of Trapani’s headland is the Torre del
Ligny, a tower which was part of the 17th century
Spanish defences and now hosts a Prehistoric
Museum. The largely pedestrianised old town is
a splendid place to see with its old buildings and
landmarks such as the offshore fortress called the
Torre della Colombaia or Castello del Mare (Sea
Castle). Among the several interesting churches
in Trapani is the town’s restored cathedral, the
Cattedrale di San Lorenzo and most famously,
the Chiesa del Purgatorio. Trapani is famous for
exporting Marsala wine, coral, salt and marble.
Toulon, French Riviera
Catania is the capital of the province and the secondlargest city in Sicily with a population of over
750,000 inhabitants. Its Patron Saint is St. Agatha
whose feast is celebrated on the 5th of February.
Catania is known to have a seismic history and has
been destroyed by catastrophic earthquakes in 1169,
another in 1693 and several volcanic eruptions from
the neighboring Mount Etna volcano, the most
violent of which was in 1669. Today, Catania is one
of the main economic, touristic and educational
centers on the island, being an important hub of the
technological industry, thus gaining the nickname
of the “European Silicon Valley”. Without doubt,
Via Etnea is the ideal place to shop due to its large
number of outlets in this street. There is also a huge
open-air market in the city center where one can
find all imaginable goods to buy at bargain prices.

Organiser in relation to any booking made by the passenger with the Organiser
relating to any service offered by the Organiser to the passenger and to ensure
that proposals, bookings and claims are forwarded to the Organiser on behalf
of the passenger. Upon placing a booking with Costa Crociere, the contract
between the Organiser and the passenger shall come into force and will be
legally binding between the parties. Booking a holiday from this brochure
implies the acceptance of the conditions set by Orange Travel Group Limited,
which is Costa Crociere’s exclusive preferred travel partner for Malta and Gozo.
Once you have completed and signed the booking form and paid your deposit,
as indicated hereunder, and have been issued a receipt, the booking is taken as
confirmed and it is understood that you have read and accepted the terms and
conditions referred to above of which you shall be given a copy together with
your booking form. The travel confirmation contains the significant details of
your booked services. Should the services in the travel confirmation differ from
those in the booking then a new offer will be presented by the Organiser. In this
case you have 7 days in which to accept the new offer. During this period the
offer remains legally binding for the Organiser. Should you accept the new offer
in writing within 7 days then the travel contract will be completed on this basis.
Alterations to the cruise itineraries are possible e.g. due to official regulations,
particular shipping conditions, medical emergencies, or when, due to adverse
weather conditions, the Captain decides to alter the route in the interest of the
safety of the passengers. The Captain alone makes the decisions on necessary
itinerary changes and/or travel times.
Special terms and conditions apply for the cruise lines in accordance to
international conventions. Please make sure that you study and understand
the terms and conditions which will be given to you upon booking the cruise.
Payment
A deposit of €700 per cabin must be effected in order to obtain a formal
confirmation of your holiday. Full payment for your holiday must reach O.T.G. at
least 75 days prior departure and therefore you are requested to pay your travel
agent at least 80 days prior departure to allow the agent to effect payment
in time. Should payment not be received by 75 days before departure, O.T.G
shall have the right to consider your holiday as cancelled and charge all the
applicable cancellation fees.
If the due balance is not settled before the date of travel the passenger is not
authorised to travel. Furthermore the passenger may be charged a cancellation
fee as compensation as per rates indicated hereunder. Travel documents are
made available approximately 1 week prior departure either in form of e-docs
or printed tickets.
Notwithstanding what is provided above, cancellation and rebooking fees are
due immediately. It is to be noted that O.T.G has appointed a number of agents
or retailers in regards to the offers contained in this brochure. Nevertheless
the moment you choose such an agent or retailer to effect payment to O.T.G.,
such payment is being made at your own risk. O.T.G bears no responsibility if
monies paid by you to third parties are not received by O.T.G within the terms
set above and will not be bound to honour any obligations if the terms set in
this agreement are not honoured fully.
All prices published in the brochure are based in Euro (€) and are per person
sharing a cabin. Prices include: all port taxes and fuel surcharges applicable
on the date of printing. In lawful circumstances and within legal scope, OTG
reserves the right to pass on any increases in the costs of transportation, taxes
and exchange rates, provided the date of travel does not fall within 21 days
from departure. This is applicable exclusively for fare changes where cost
factors were subject to unforeseeable changes after the conclusion of the
contract. Significant and unpredictable reasons for a price increase are e.g.
the increase in public dues, the increase in value-added tax, changes in the
world oil prices, changes in harbour dues, or, in particular cases, a more than
10% increase in the EURO vs. US-Dollar exchange rate. To the same extent an
adjustment of the agreed travel fare is permitted should there be a change in
the official passenger tariffs. As proof of the legitimacy of a price change, OTG
will provide certification of each cost and rate increase for you to check. In case
of alterations of prices or services OTG will contact you immediately but not
later than 21 days prior to the scheduled sailing date. Increases after that date
are not allowed. You have to assert your rights against OTG immediately after
OTG has informed you about alterations of price.
Financial Aspect
Prices published in the brochure are based on the cruise prices, land
arrangements, port taxes and fuel surcharges valid at the time of printing (you
will bear the cost of any tax and fuel surcharge increases that may be imposed
following the date of printing). In accordance to EU Law no. 51 (1) of 1998, any
change to the costs mentioned above may result in an increase in the prices.
Increases due to currency fluctuations and tax and fuel surcharges do not give
you the right to cancel your holiday without incurring cancellation fees. You
can cancel your contract at any time before date of travel. As means of proof,
cancellations should be made in writing. Your cancellation notice is effective
upon receipt by OTG. Should you cancel your booking or not commence the
holiday, OTG reserves the right to levy charges for made travel provisions and
expenses incurred. OTG may claim cancellation fees expressed as a percentage
of the travel fare according to the amount of notice given between cancellation
date and departure date, as listed below.
Cancellation fees:
Up to 340 days before: €100 per cabin
339 to 120 days: €700 per cabin
119 to 90 days: 25% of the total fare or €700 per cabin (whichever is higher)
89 to 60 days: 50% of the total fare or €700 (whichever is higher)
59 to 30 days: 75% of the total fare or €700 (whichever is higher)
29 days or less: 100% of the total fare
Booking Changes
Your booking can be changed upon request and subject to availability (rebooking). This can be done until 30 days before date of travel. O.T.G. charges the
sum of €50 rebooking fee per person. Should you wish to make a rebooking less
than 30 days before date of travel, then booking changes can only be made, if
at all possible, by cancelling the travel contract subject to the cancellation fees
indicated above. Any form of alteration made to the date of travel, destination
or place of commencement, accommodation, the cabin or mode of transport
is considered as a change.
Replacements
Up to the date of travel i.e. taking into consideration a reasonable amount of
time for organisational matters, you may demand that a third party takes over
all rights and liabilities of your travel contract with the Organiser. O.T.G. reserves
the right to decline making such a request on your behalf or that of the third
party should the third party not meet the travel requirements or should there
be legal restrictions or an official directive against his/her participation. Should
a third party enter the contract then he/ she and you are liable as co-debtors
for the travel fare and the additional costs caused by the third party entering.
Flights
The right is reserved to substitute airlines and/or aircraft if necessary. Only
flight timings are subject to confirmation and alteration. Some flights may have
intermediate stops en route and as factors effecting this are not always known
before departure date we cannot always notify you in advance. Flights are
subject to the granting of permits and licenses by authorities both in Malta and
overseas. In the event of your flight arrangements being changed or cancelled
as outlined in this section, we accept no liability for extra costs or consequential
loss arising, directly or indirectly, from any independent contract arrangements
between the client and a third party. All flights are non-smoking.
Name Changes
At time of booking all passengers names need to be submitted to O.T.G. Names
need to be congruent with the valid passengers’ passports. O.T.G. reserves the
right to pass on the service charges of €50 per person for name changes after
the option is confirmed.
Should travel be largely hindered, endangered or affected due to a force
majeure (e.g. through war, natural disasters, government authority measures,
transport embargos, ship loss or other similar incidents) which were not
predictable at the time of conclusion of the contract, then both the passenger
and OTG may cancel the contract. In the event of OTG cancelling the holiday
prior to departure, the passengers receive a refund of all sums paid to OTG. No
other compensation shall be paid.
Changes
Costa Crociere reserve the right to change the itinerary due to bad weather
or industrial action, in which case neither the cruise company nor OTG are
liable to pay any form of compensation for the missed ports or the change
of programme. If any portion of holiday is lost due to natural disasters, bad
weather, industrial action, war, government restrictions or any matter of force
majeur, neither Costa Crociere nor OTG or their subcontractors can be held
liable to pay compensation for damages incurred. In the event that a ship is
prevented to enter a port in order to either embark (to start a cruise holiday),
or disembark (to finish a cruise holiday) due to bad weather, industrial action,
or such unexpected circumstances, OTG shall be responsible to convey the
passengers to the next possible port of embarkation or disembarkation but
it is also being hereby understood that neither Costa Crociere nor OTG shall
be liable to pay any expenses related to loss of holiday or other sorts of moral
damages arising from such circumstances, since these are completely out of
the control of both Costa Crociere and OTG. Cancellation after date of travel:
Should you cancel after the date of travel then the charges for return transport
and other additional costs will be charged to you as traveller.
Passport, Visa, Customs, Currency and Health Requirements
O.T.G. will be responsible to inform you of passport, visa and health
requirements and possible changes thereof prior to starting the journey solely
so far as these apply to citizens of Malta. O.T.G. may delegate this instruction
to a third party. Citizens of other countries, please check passport, visa and
any other entry requirements with your own country’s embassy. In doing
so, O.T.G. assumes that there are no peculiarities in the customer itself and
potential fellow travellers (e.g. dual citizenship, statelessness). The customer is
responsible for obtaining and entrainment of required documents, potential
mandatory vaccination as well as compliance to customs and exchange control
regulations. Inconveniences that might accrue from non-compliance of these
regulations e.g. payment of cancellation fees are for your account. O.T.G. is not
liable for changes in political circumstances or entry regulations, making an
entry to the country or destination difficult or impossible. In the event that it is
necessary to make changes we will always try to advise you in advance, but this
cannot be guaranteed.
Restrictions and Exclusions of Conveyance
It is important to note that for safety reasons infants under the age of 6 months
are not allowed on board Costa Crociere ships and passengers who will have
entered their 24th week of pregnancy by the time of their travel will not be
permitted boarding. A medical certificate establishing due date and fitness to
travel must accompany an expectant mother’s application for passage. Should
an expectant mother choose to proceed with her booking, she will travel at
her own risk and shall keep O.T.G. free and harmless from any claims arising
from her pregnancy. Any physical challenge or medical condition that requires
special treatment or attention must be reported at the time of reservation.
You are asked to complete the questionnaire provided by the Organiser in
order to confirm compliance with the Organisers’ requirements. In such a case,
conditions may be imposed for travel by the passenger in question and the
reservation may be revoked or refused by O.T.G. or Costa Crociere if in their
judgement the passenger is in a physical or mental condition which render
him unfit for cruise travel. The reservation may also be revoked or refused if
the passenger requires care beyond what can be provided by O.T.G. or Costa
Crociere. For safety reasons it is not allowed to bring on board portable oxygen
concentrators, oxygen gas cylinders and liquid oxygen units. Costa’s medical
form (SNIF), available from the travel agent, must be duly filled by client and
medical doctor should there be a medical condition. Also, you must inform
the travel agent at time of booking if you or any one of your group intends to
take medical needles for syringes on board. All physically impaired passengers
must be self-sufficient and should travel with a passenger who will provide
any assistance needed during the cruise or in the event of an emergency.
Passengers who use a wheelchair must provide their own small, collapsible
type. Children under 18 years travelling without their parents must bring proof
of acceptance to travel on their own signed by both parents / legal guardians.
Wearing diapers in the swimming pools or whirlpools is not allowed. Adults
and children dependent on diapers are not allowed in the pools.
Boarding and Embarkation
Passengers are to keep in mind to board the ship at the embarkation port at
the time indicated by OTG. It is the guest‘s responsibility not to miss such final
boarding time and the ship’s scheduled departure from the embarkation port.
Any and all costs incurred as a result of not boarding the ship on time at the
embarkation port shall be borne by the guest. In all ports of call you must return
to the ship no less than one hour before the scheduled departure time. Please
consider that shipboard and shoreside clocks may have different times, but it
is the guest‘s responsibility to return to the ship so as not to miss the ship‘s
departure. Any costs associated with transporting the guest to rejoin the ship
including, but not limited to, government fees, visa fees, subsistence, lodging,
air fare, launch fare, car hire or agency fees shall be borne by the guest. Loss or
damage to baggage during embarkation or disembarkation must be reported.
You are obliged to notify the relevant authority or an official agent thereof in
writing. Should baggage which has been handled or stored by the crew be
noticeably damaged externally then you must report this upon receipt of your
baggage. Should you not fulfil these obligations then you are not entitled to
make a claim. Passengers’ own carrying, storing and handling of baggage on
board the cruise vessel will always be at passengers’ own risk.
Warranty
All information in this brochure represents the details provided by Costa
Crociere at time of print and may therefore be subject to change. O.T.G. is
giving no warranty in this regard. Every effort has been made to provide
accurate information, including photographs of all cruise services featured.
All such information by the cruise lines and other suppliers and in certain
cases photographs may differ from actual. O.T.G. endeavours to feature cruise
services of commonly acceptable standards but O.T.G. is not liable for any
misrepresentation in the accuracy of information, descriptions or photographs
supplied by third parties. In certain cases circumstances may necessitate
changes or deviations from the cruise programme. All schedules, itineraries,
destinations, hours of arrival and departure, cabin changes, transfers,
sightseeing tours and other components of the cruise programme are subject
to change without prior notice and without reference to O.T.G by the cruise
lines and other suppliers.
Passengers are advised that Costa Crociere’s cabins have 2 lower berths. In
most of the cabins these twin beds can be pushed together to make a double.
The 3rd and 4th beds can either be pullman beds (bunk beds) or sofa beds.
Especially the inside cabins are not suitable for 4 adults to share as cabin’s
space is very limited. The bunk beds are not suitable for older passengers or for
passengers with mobility problems.
The particulars contained in the brochure save for what is stated in these terms
and conditions shall not form part of the agreement between O.T.G. and the
passenger.
Should you, contrary to expectation, have grounds for complaint you can
seek remedy. According to the law of warranty and the right of notice, you are
obliged to report the deficiency forthwith on-site to the ship’s reception or to
an international hostess. You must present OTG with a time limit to provide
a remedy, unless remedy is impossible or is refused by OTG. OTG can offer
remedy by providing an equivalent replacement service as long as this is
reasonable. Should OTG offer you a reasonable remedy then you are obliged
to accept it. Should you refuse a reasonable offer you are no longer entitled to
make warranty claims for inconveniences.
If, contrary to obligation, OTG does not succeed in providing a remedy within
a given fair time limit then you may seek your own remedy. Hostesses or
responsible travel staff are not authorised to recognise any claims, they may
only confirm the registration of your complaints. Should you not fulfil this duty
to cooperate by actual fault, then you will not be entitled to make a claim.
Claims
O.T.G. strongly recommends that the passenger takes a travel insurance to
cover risks relating to the package being acquired by him/her. It is important
that the passenger adheres strictly to the conditions of his/her insurance policy
and to report any loss or damage event to the competent authorities without
delay following such occurrence.
