Over 100 years ago a small group of people
organized Fern Hill Baptist Church on land close
to the Biltmore Estate. The church later moved its
meeting place to Summit Street in Biltmore and
changed its name to Biltmore Baptist Church.
After years at a location on Hendersonville
Road, we relocated to our present site in April
2000, celebrating our first service here on Easter
Sunday. Since then several expansions have
taken place, including added space for children
and students, increased parking spaces and
Worship Center seating, and the addition of
athletic fields.
Dr. Bruce Frank was called to Biltmore in 2008
as our Lead Pastor. He came from Houston, TX
with his wife Lori and their two sons, Tyler and
Conner. Pastor Bruce has a strong conviction
about the Word of God, combined with a burden
for lost people. His messages are heard in eight
states on The Vertical Life on WMIT 106.9 each
Sunday morning.
Biltmore has repeatedly been recognized as
one of the top 100 fastest growing churches in
America. Biltmore Baptist now averages over 6,000
worshippers each weekend on three campuses.
Biltmore became a multi-site church in 2012 with
the opening of an East Campus to serve the East
Asheville/Buncombe area, and launched another
campus in Franklin, NC, at the Smoky Mountain
Center for Performing Arts in August 2013. In
addition, Biltmore has a church plant, Journey
Church, located in Morganton, NC, as well as two
college venues – one at WCU in Cullowhee and
another at UNC-Asheville. Throughout the year,
BBC volunteers serve and minister to 22 local
mission partners across WNC and numerous
foreign mission partners. Our foreign mission focus
is currently centered on continuing commitments
in Kenya and Guatemala. We are praying about
and researching another possible campus launch
for 2015.

1. What is a Quiet Time?
A quiet time is my daily time alone with God to get
to know Him better through prayer and reading
the Word of God. It is my time of private worship.
2. Why have a Quiet Time?
• You were created to have fellowship with
God. (Genesis 1:27, 2:7, 3:8)
• Jesus, through His death, made it possible
for us to have a relationship with God.
• Jesus made it a priority to spend time with
the Father.
• You cannot be a healthy Christian without
spending time with God. (Matthew 4:4)
3. How Do I Begin?
Choose a specific…..
TIME. If possible, have your quiet time in the
morning before your day begins. Night time is
better than not at all.
PLACE. Choose a place where there are the
least amount of distractions. Keep it special.
RESOURCE. Choose a Bible that best fits
your ability to understand what the writer is
communicating. Have a notebook and pen for
journaling.
How Do I Get Started?
“Fifteen Minutes with God”
Relax (1 minute)
Be still and be quiet! Slow down! Prepare your
heart. Take a few deep breaths and wait on God.
Read (5 minutes)
Begin reading where you left off the day before.
Read until you feel God has told you something.
Then stop and think about it.
Reflect (3 minutes)
Think about what the passage means to your life.
Write down your thoughts.
Write (2 minutes)
Write a personal application statement that is
practical.
Talk to God (4 minutes)
Conclude your quiet time by talking to God about
what He has shown you and making requests
from your prayer list.

HOW DO I GET CONNECTED?
You were not designed to walk through life alone.
Whatever you are going through, life is better when
you are connected with others. One of the best
ways to get involved in a new church is to connect
with a group of people who are in a similar lifestage and who often share common experiences.
A. You will have an opportunity to sign up for a
Connect Group at the conclusion of this class.
“The Christian life is not a solo sport it’s a team sport.”
Connect/home Groups…
At Biltmore, groups of people gather weekly
to grow spiritually, be encouraged, develop
friendships and experience life together. The
smaller groups that meet on Sunday mornings
are called Connect Groups. (Schedules for each
campus are noted below.) Other groups meet in
homes throughout the community at various times
and days, and are known as Home Groups.
Regardless of when or where they meet, each
group welcomes new participants.
• Arden Campus Connect Groups meet on
Sunday mornings at 8:00, 9:15, and 10:45 am.
Home Groups meet Monday-Thursday evenings.
• East Campus Connect Groups meet Sunday
mornings at 9:30 am. Home Groups meet on
Tuesday evenings.

Franklin and Sylva at various times/locations
throughout the week.

Preschool Ministry
Newborn and preschool ministry is provided
during Sunday Worship Services on all campuses,
and on the Arden Campus during Wednesdays
@ Biltmore.
Lil’ AMP Preschool Worship is at 11 am on
Sundays on all campuses. Children will enjoy
Bible stories, crafts, music time, puppets and
teaching.
Connect Groups for preschoolers are available
at 9:15 am and 10:45 am on the Arden Campus,
9:30 am on the East Campus, and 11:00 am on
the Franklin Campus. Connect Groups are a highenergy praise and worship time and are designed
to prepare your children for worship when they
graduate to kindergarten.
Kid’s Ministry
Kindergarten through 4th Grades
We’re all about helping children and families
grow in their walk with Jesus Christ. We want
your children to know that following Christ is
an exciting and important decision; one that
will forever change their lives. Our children’s
Connect Groups activities are designed around
a classroom setting where they will be taught
Biblical concepts at a level appropriate for their
age, as well as participate in worship, teaching
and discussion designed just for them. Children
attend Connect Groups one hour and AMP
Children’s Worship during the other hour.

Student Ministry
(Arden)
Our preteen ministry (grades 5 & 6) is custom
designed to prepare you and your child for the
teenage years. We have mirrored worship and
large group discussions (Route 56) on Sundays
at 9:15 and 10:45 am so students can worship
with parents one hour and connect with fellow
students the other. Route 56 also has small
groups that meet each Wednesday at 6:15 pm at
the backstage of the Student Center.
For Middle and High School students, BBC
Students Live – consisting of worship, video,
Bible Study and a short message – meet on
Sunday mornings; Middle School at 9:15 am and
High School at 10:45 am. Every Wednesday at
6 pm students have Bible study and small group
discussions. Once a month (check website for
schedule) we have Collide, a special event for
students to bring their friends and experience a
night of worship with a great message brought by
some of the best personalities in the nation.
(East)
Student Connect Groups meet at 9:30 am on
Sundays. This is the best place to have your
students (5th -12th grade) meet others and
deepen their relationship with Christ. Small,
adult led, grade & gender specific classes; a
great mix of student led worship and Christ
centered relationships.
(Franklin)
Student Connect Groups meet weekly on
Mondays at 6:30 pm in various homes. On the
first Monday of each month at 6:30 pm students
will meet for corporate worship at The Factory.

glorify God as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission.

MINISTRY THROUGH THE LOCAL CHURCH
There are thousands of volunteer opportunities
each week at Biltmore. They come in all shapes,
skill levels and time commitments. (Ex. - greeters,
musicians, webcast, teachers, coaches, hospital,
children’s ministry, prison ministry, etc.) Each
Biltmore member is asked to participate by
contributing their time to one ministry.

WHO WE ARE AS A CHURCH
The ministry structure and philosophy helps us focus
on the main things.
We exist primarily to be an instrument of the
Holy Spirit in order for Him to bring people into
a saving relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ
and then develop them into a growing disciple
(“follower”) of Christ. We attempt to evaluate
all our ministries through this perspective. The
continual assessment of “why we do what we
do” is what gives us direction and allows us to be
focused.
Ministry Structure
Our structure is built around the purpose of
equipping the saints for ministry (Ephesians 4:1116). God has blessed you with unique gifts and
abilities, and desires for you to be used for His
glory and honor. Our goal is to help you find that
PLACE of ministry and equip you to minister for
others’ good and God’s glory.
Our Church Government
In accordance with Colossians 1:18, Christ is the
Head of the Church.
And he is the head of the body, the church; he
is the beginning and the firstborn from among
the dead, so that in everything he might have
the supremacy.
Biltmore Baptist is a Pastor-led/staff-led, teamfacilitated, deacon-served church. (1 Peter 5:1-2;
1 Timothy 3; Acts 6)
We are a Southern Baptist Convention (SBC)
church. Every SBC church chooses its own
pastor, owns its own buildings and assets, and
determines its own programs.

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT...
1. God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He
has eternally existed in three personalities: The
Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three
are co-equal and are one God.

2. Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal
with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life
and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the
sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose
from the dead after three days to demonstrate
His power over sin and death. He ascended to
Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to
earth to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.

3. The Holy Spirit
We believe in the total deity of the Holy Spirit and
that His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.
John 16:14
The Holy Spirit regenerates the sinner upon belief
in Christ, baptizing the believer into the body of
which Christ is the head. The Holy Spirit indwells,
guides, instructs, fills, comforts and empowers the
believer for godly living. The Holy Spirit convicts
the world of sin, of God’s righteousness and of
coming judgment.
While we believe that the Scriptures do not teach
that certain gifts have ceased, they indicate that
use of the gifts vary according to the need that
each gift meets. Biltmore Baptist Church does
not encourage the use of “sign gifts.” Instead,
we seek to emphasize the more excellent way of
love as well as zeal for the more edifying gifts.

4. The Bible
The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by
human authors, under the supernatural guidance
of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of
truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is
inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture
of error.

5. Salvation
Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must
receive it. We can never make up for our sin by
self-improvement or good words. Only by trusting
in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can
anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn
from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith
we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one
receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

Baptism
The Lord’s Supper
Why every believer should be baptized...
Jesus never asked His disciples to remember His
birth. He did, however, instruct them to remember
His death and resurrection.
1.Jesus commanded it.

3.It’s a picture of what Jesus did for us when
He died on the cross, was buried, and rose

Why baptism is by immersion in water...
The word for baptism in Greek is “baptisma,”
which translated means “to immerse.”
Baptism is the complete submersion of the person
in the water.
At Biltmore it’s a membership requirement that
every member must have been baptized the way
Jesus demonstrated, even though many of us
were “confirmed” as children.

BECOMING A CHRIST FOLLOWER
There’s a lot of confusion in our world today about the true
meaning of Christianity. Even in our churches, opinions vary on how
to obtain salvation. The Bible is very clear on how to get to heaven.

name of the Son of God so that you may know
that you have eternal life.”

Because of His love for all people, He sent His
only son to die on the cross.

…that you’re a sinner.
All of us are sinners in that we disobey God. Sin
is choosing to go your way versus God’s way.

…that sin separates you from God.
Sin separates you from having fellowship or a
relationship with God. God is holy.

…that you can’t save yourself.
People often think that good works will get them
to heaven. There is nothing you can do to earn
God’s salvation. It is a gift from God.

Jesus’ death allows us access to God. God did for
you in Jesus what you could not do for yourself.

done for you already, rather than trusting in your
own efforts. Faith is complete reliance on Christ
and allowing Him to live His life through you.
