having won a water and power plant project in
Saudi Arabia for Ma’aden, the state-owned coal
mining company. The plant was built as a turnkey

Hanwha launched Hanwha China in June
2011, to manage Hanwha’s manufacture,
trade, finance, and retail businesses in
China, the biggest market in the world.
Hanwha Chemical built a 300,000-mtpy
PVC plant in China and began operations in February 2011. It now serves as
the global operating base for the rapidly
growing Chinese PVC market.
As a global photovoltaics player, the company has extensively expanded its production capacity, which today stands at
1.3GW for cells and 1.5GW for modules.
Hanwha Life began sales in China in
January 2013, working to improve the
quality of financial services available
through 3 offices and 197 bancassurance networks.
Hanwha Corp. trades steel, petrochemicals, machinery, and a multitude of other
goods and services through local subsidiaries in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and
India. It has branches in Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, the UAE, the Philippines, and Myanmar, and is now expanding
in Southeast Asia.
Hanwha Q CELLS’ photovoltaic plant in

with an annual capacity of 900MW and
became the hub of Hanwha Q CELLS’
photovoltaic production.
Hanwha Life Vietnam has been experiencing rapid growth since it began selling
policies in April 2009. Hanwha Life further
expanded into the Southeast Asian insurance market in December 2012 with the
acquisition of a competitive insurance
company in Indonesia.
In May 2012, Hanwha E&C signed a USD 8
billion contract with Iraq’s National Investment Commission to develop a new city.
Scheduled for completion in 2019, the new
city development includes 100,000 public
housing units and all of the necessary
supporting public infrastructure.
