Your Town is Our Town
Captivating streetscapes of an evolving city, frozen in time
by Calgary’s top editorial photographers
March 25th–June 14th, 2015
Calgary, AB. – March 24th, 2015 – You probably follow the same routine
everyday, take the same route to work, and generally do not think about these
experiences as anything worthy of being rediscovered. Yet sometimes, the most
ordinary moments can lead to creative magic. In Your Town is Our Town, 11 of
Calgary’s top editorial photographers capture Calgary landmarks and streets in
ways you have never seen before.
This exhibition will make you stop and see Calgary as it is, an evolving, vibrant
city full of wonder and magic. Curated by Shelley Youngblut, an award-winning
journalist and creator of Swerve, this exhibition is a remarkable collection of
images that give you a strong sense of an interesting Calgary.
No stranger to being a cultural and social hub for local conversation, the
historically grounded Lougheed House continues this tradition through Your
Town is Our Town, an exhibition featuring 20 photographs that captured the
here and now in one space. We invite you, as a Calgarian, to take a moment
and step into this timeless gallery and connect with these photographs that
capture our changing city.
