Converters
Fibrolan’s comprehensive line of media converters interconnect one type of media to another-typically copper to
fiber (MM, SM and SFS).
Available in stand-alone, fixed multi-channel and modular chassis, these media devices allow media conversion for
a wide range of protocols and speeds: Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel, 10/100, 1000, ATM,
E1/T1, RS232, RS485, and Fault Tolerant applications.
Most of the devices are available in SNMP managed version.
All products are equipped with high reliability internal wide range (100-240VAC) Power Supplies, for most products
12-24-48VDC variants are available as well. This, as well as robust metal housing and extended temperature range
option (up to -25º to +70ºC) make the devices suitable for a variety of vertical markets: Enterprise, Industrial,
Utilities, Defense, Education, Transportation and more.
With advanced features such as Auto-Negotiation, Auto-Cross, Far –End Fault, Fault Propagation, LST
(Link Segmentation Test), SLE ( Subscriber Link Emulation), Loop-Back, QoS, Statistics, and more, have made
Fibrolan media converters the number one choice in the industry.
Media Conversion technology solutions provide the ability to:
• add new devices- converters- without replacing costly cabling
• Extend network distances ( up to 150Km )
• Provide a link between media types – transparent to the infrastructure
• Provide Resiliency where needed
• Keep track with changing technology
Refer to section 4 for a complete SFP Transceivers List.
For more stringent requirements (hi density, advanced manageability etc) you may find the optimal solution also in
parts I and II of this guide. Although products listed in these parts are primarily addressing carriers, they are suitable
also for complex enterprise networks.
