With grace of Adiguru Sri Prajna Dakshinamurti, and with the presence & guidance of Sri
Swamiji, Sri Maha Sivarathri Puja was performed in Theni Vedapuri Ashramam, on 27th Feb
2014.
Basmothpaththi or the traditional way of preparing Vibuthi process started on 25th Feb at
09:45 am. On a brick stage, a tower formation was made with dried cow-dung cake and
paddy husk.
On 27th Feb, the Virajaa Homam started at 07:30 pm.

Invoking Lord Shiva, in the presence of 15 Sivachariars from Tiruparankundram Agama
Pathasala and around one hundred devotees, homam was performed and Purnahuthi was
done around 08:30pm, at the Prajna Yajna Sala.
Sri Vigneswara Puja, Punyahavachanam, panchakavyam and Esanadhi Pancha Brahma
Kalasa Puja were performed at Adiguru Sri Prajna Dakshinamurti Vidyapitham.
Mahanyasa Purvakam Ekadasa Rudra Avahanam and Japam started at 09:00 pm. While
more than two hundred devotees sat through the entire abishekam and Puja, there was also
regular stream of devotees visiting the Vidyapitham.
While Sri Swamiji performed abishekam for Sri Swarna Kaleeswarar, special abishekam was
done for Adiguru Sri Prajna Dakshinamurti by the Sivachariars.
Eleven draviyams - Suganda Thailam, rice mavu & draviya podi, panchakavyam,
panchamirtham, ghee, milk, curd, honey, sugar cane juice, tender coconut, sandal paste
with rose water and vibuthi – were used for abishekam.
Sri Rudram and Siva Puranam parayanam were chanted eleven times, guided by Sri
Swamiji, Sivachariars, Vedapathasala students and devotees.
One draviyam per
parayanam was followed.
The abishekam which started at 11:30 pm ended with the
Kalasabhishekam at 04:00 am on 28th Feb 2014.
At 05:00 am, after gold kavacham alankaram, Shodasopachara Puja was performed. After
Sri Swamiji gave thirtha prasadam to all, nivedhana prasadams were distributed to all
devotees.
The camp participants, regular devotees from various places like Coimbatore, Dindigul,
Madurai and from in & around Theni participated with fervour and devotion.
Sankalpam was done - for devotees who had contributed for this Sri Maha Sivarathri puja
sankalpam, for devotees who had contributed for Dharmasri Shaswatha Kshema Nidhi, for
devotees who had contributed for Dharmasri Varshika Kshema Nidhi, for devotees who
contribute monthly and for the Trustees. Puja prasadams are being sent to them from 28th
Feb and they should all receive it in the next days.
