Moon Cresta / Eagle (Centuri / Nichibutsu Board) Savekit Installation Instructions
Note: This savekit works only on an original Centuri / Nichibutsu Board.
If you have an original Nichibutsu Bord continue with page 6.
If your board looks like this, continue here:
Moon Cresta and Eagle differs only in some small parts in the code and the graphic roms.
Thats why this savekit works for both (you only have to select the type of graphic roms you
have in the main menu)
Note: The Savekit is preset to Eagle (Centuri), if you have Moon Cresta, do not forget to
change the Rom-Version in the main menu.)
THIS Savekit does NOT WORK on other boards e.g. Galaxian or Gremlin Hardware.
1) Make sure that your game is fully working BEFORE installing our Savekit.
2) Turn off the Power of the cab. We highly recommend to remove the boardset from
your cab. It is much easier to work on a bright big workbench with lots of space instead of
the dark cabinet.
Before removing the Boardset, please remember or label any connector as you disconnect
the board for hooking up later. I suggest taking pictures with your smartphone.
3) Remove the game-board and locate
→ Z80B-CPU at location 8B on the right pcb shown in the pic above.
4) Remove the daughter-board shown in the Pic above. This daughter-board is no longer
needed.
5) Check and remember Pin1 of the CPU at Location 8B.
6) Carefully remove the CPU at location 8B.
7) Insert daughter-board into the cpu-socket of the board where the CPU chip was removed
from. Make sure Pin1 of the daughter-board is oriented to correctly match Pin1 on the
board. (see pic below)
8) Insert the CPU into the daugtherboard. Make sure Pin1 of the CPU is oriented to correctly
match Pin1 on the board. (see pic below)
The pic below shows the standard savekit (without upload) installed.
9) Double-Check your work.
10) Powerup the game and enjoy!
IMPORTANT:
If the game does not start, turn power off immediately, double check your work and read the
troubleshooting website or get in contact with us.

4) Remove the daughter-board shown in the Pic above. This daughter-board is no longer

5) Check and remember Pin1 of the CPU at Location B 7-8.
6) Carefully remove the CPU at location B 7-8.
7) Insert the CPU into the daugtherboard. Make sure pin1 of the CPU is oriented to correctly
match pin-1 on the board. (see pic below, your cpu might look different)

board. (see Pin1 orientation at step 4 and 5 - below is a sample picture)
