Director’s Corner
The July and August calendars are packed with opportunities to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and
sunshine. July starts out with a bang as the Reynoldsburg Independence Day Festivities at Civic Park run from
6-10:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1 and the parade at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 4. Our Annual summer picnic will
be outside with a pool party theme. We’ll be outside picnicking and tossing balloons before the Reynoldsburg
Community Bank concert begins at 7:00 p.m. You will have a chance to step back in time in Lancaster as we
tour local museums. The Ohio State Fair will be in full swing when we visit on Senior Day or you may enjoy
sitting outside on the Ohio Statehouse Lawn listening to music. You can ride with us to downtown Columbus
for a visit to the renovated library and then stroll through the Topiary Gardens. The Reynoldsburg Tomato
Festival is always a fun filled weekend ending in an outdoor concert by McGuffey Lane. You can have lunch on
a covered bridge in Marysville and then watch hot air balloons rise at the end of the day. We also have
members playing pickle ball at JFK Park, golfing all around East Columbus and pitching horse shoes here at
SCOR. And, make note of the Farmer’s Market that is every Thursday through September 8 from 3-6:00 p.m.
in Huber Park!
Thank you to all the people and companies making generous donations for the upcoming July picnic:
Arbors East; MediGold; Medical Mutual; Wesley Ridge; and, Bill Kay. You’re the Best!
Have a safe and eventful summer. Hope to see you all soon!
