Can you believe it’s the middle of May already?
2016 has been great year so far. The Peachtree Chapter kicked off
2016 with our fantastic Annual Party.
Our Driving School program is up and running for 2016. Our March
school at Road Atlanta was a big success. This year we have a
special treat with Roebling Road in June and we wrap up the 2016
season at Road Atlanta in September. Thanks to Kevin Hagler and
team for all of their hard work to make this a great program!
Shawn Doughtie has kicked off another exciting season of Autocross with 55 participants at our last event. We are holding this
season down at Atlanta Motor Speedway again!
2016 continues to be a great year with the Peachtree Chapter. Please stay tuned to the Chapter Website and our Facebook
page for upcoming events. If you have anything you would like to
do as a club, I encourage you to email me so we can explore setting up those events.

September 2-4—Driving School at Road
Atlanta
Monthly Social—By Simone Harrison
The sun is finally out in Georgia and we had our first monthly Peachtree chapter "meet and
greet" for 2016 last month. We have these BMW club gatherings scheduled for the third Sunday
of each month during the warmer months (March - November). Mark your calendars and come
meet other chapter members, see new and classic bimmers, and find out more about all the car
events we have scheduled for the year.
In March we had 24 cars and their owners at the meet. Chris Lindner, our chapter president,
somehow managed to bring two cars - his e36 M3 convertible and his new X5. Sandra and Eric
Nissen left their Porsche at home but brought their XXX, along with their basenji dogs Dakar and
Evo. Shawn Doughtie decided to leave his bimmer at home and showed up in his 1957 Chevrolet
Bel Air Sport Sedan (AKA 4-door hardtop). There were new and old cars, and new and not so
new chapter members! If you're on facebook, many thanks to Dom Wong for sharing some great
pictures to our chapter group page.

March HPDE at road Atlanta—By Joe Sainato
The first weekend of March brought the Peachtree Chapter back to Road Atlanta for our annual spring DE
weekend. With a full roster of over a hundred and seventy students and instructors, beautiful weather, and a
great collection of cars, it was shaping up to be another great weekend of high performance driving. And that’s
exactly what it was. Chapter members of all ages and experience were out making themselves better and safer
drivers, taking classes with the infamous Jack Joyner of the Heart of Dixie Chapter, or hanging out in the paddock
having a good time with friends.
Also in attendance once again, was Mike Renner, from the BMW Performance Center. This time Mike brought
with him a new BMW M4 to take passengers around the track. What everyone was excited about, however, was
the brand spanking new M2 that was driven down from New Jersey by Jake Mooney, BMW M Performance
Manager. This car was outfitted with a selection of aerodynamic components, carbon fiber bits, and a fully
adjustable coilover suspension installed by the fine folks in the M division. Jake handed the keys to Mike so that
whoever stood in line could experience, first hand, what it was like to ride around the track at full-tilt in this new
car.
We hope to see you all at one of our other two events this year, June 17-19 at Roebling Road in Savannah and
Labor Day weekend, September 2-4, back at Road Atlanta. If you’ve never been on track and want to try it out,
come on! Our DE committee puts on one of the best events in the region. At the very least, come up, hang out,
and catch a ride with one of our instructors.
