About Logan County...
Nestled in south central Kentucky is the quiet, relaxing
community of Logan County. Blessed with scenic beauty and
historic charm, Logan County also boasts a county seat, the
town of Russellville, that has more sites on the National
Register of Historic Places than any other community of its
size in Kentucky.
Logan County’s rich history comes alive as you make your
way across its vast farmland and through its small towns.
Near Adairville, you can visit the Red River Meeting House
& Cemetery where the Great Revival of 1800 took place.
Walk the tree-lined streets of Russellville, and see the Old
Southern Bank of Kentucky where the infamous Jesse James
Gang staged its first bank robbery in 1868. Close by is the
Bibb House Museum, the 1817 Saddle Factory Museum,
and the African American Heritage Center. Near Auburn,
you will find the Shaker Museum at South Union, the historic
site of the South Union Shaker Village (1807-1922).
A stroll through the historic districts of Auburn and
Russellville will reveal quaint neighborhoods and fine antique
and gift shops. See over 1000 artifacts at the Auburn
Museum and enjoy the “historic village” located on the
grounds.
Near Lewisburg, is beautiful Lake Malone. Whether you
enjoy fishing, skiing, or just prefer a relaxing boat ride, Lake
Malone is sure to please.
Plan your visit so that you can attend one of the county’s
several distinctive festivals, each celebrating history and
culture.
