How to Use Scotch® Photo Splits Applicator for Scrapbooking
This is a versatile scrapbooking design can be created for either a boy or a girl infant or toddler by just changing the color
scheme of the paper, ribbon and buttons. The Scotch® Photo Splits Applicator makes it quick and easy to attach the
photos to the page. Multiple photos taken in sequence provide a storyboard for this design.

Blue striped 12 x12 inch scrapbooking paper
3 sheets of different colored beige cardstock to coordinate with the stripes (one for mounting)
1 sheet of blue cardstock
1 sheet of blue velum
2 light blue buttons with 4 holes
Blue embroidery floss
Small light blue brads
1/2 inch wide blue grosgrain ribbon with dark blue stitching on the edges
3/8 inch wide beige grosgrain ribbon
3 sequential 4 x 3 inch photos
Scotch® Photo Splits Applicator (for attaching photos)
Scotch® Precision Cutter (for cutting paper)
Scotch® Precision Scissors (for cutting and ribbon and embroidery floss)
Scotch® Wrinkle-Free Glue Stick (for attaching scrapbooking paper)
Scotch® Quick-Dry Adhesive (for gluing buttons)
Scotch® Clear Glue with 2-Way Applicator (for gluing ribbon)
Scotch® Vellum Tape (for attaching vellum)
Instructions
1. Using Scotch® Precision Cutter, cut a piece of the striped and the darkest beige scrapbooking paper 6 inches
high and 12 inches wide.
2. Using Scotch® Wrinkle-Free Glue Stick, apply glue to the wrong side each of the pieces of paper, especially
around the edges. Attach them to the mounting cardstock, lining up the edges of the paper with the edges of the
cardstock and meeting the edges of the two papers in the middle.
3. Using Scotch® Precision Cutter cut three pieces of blue vellum 3/4 inch larger than the length and width of the
size of the pictures.

4. Using the Scotch® Photo Splits Applicator, apply adhesive to edges of the wrong side of each of the photos and
attach them to the center of the vellum pieces to form a matte.
5. Using Scotch® Vellum Tape, apply strips of tape to the wrong side of the top, bottom and sides of the vellum.
6. Attach the photos to the page, centering them evenly between the top and bottom edges and evenly spacing
them between the side edges.
Note: The vellum tape virtually disappears once it is attached to the paper.

7. Print out the child’s name onto the lightest color beige cardstock using a blue script font.
8. Using Scotch® Precision Cutter cut out the title about 9 inches wide x 2-1/2 inches long. Cut a piece of the blue
cardstock 3/4 inch larger than the length and width of the size of the beige cardstock.
9. Thread a needle with the blue embroidery floss and stitch and “X” shape in each corner of the blue cardstock
piece.
10. Print out the child’s age onto the lightest color beige cardstock using a smaller size of the script font.
11. Using Scotch® Precision Cutter, cut out the age label about 2-3/4 inches wide x 1/2 inches long. Cut a piece of
the blue vellum 3/4 inch larger than the length and width of the size of the age label.
12. Using Scotch® Wrinkle-Free Glue Stick, apply glue to the wrong side of each of the titles, especially around the
edges. Attach them centered onto the cardstock and the vellum.
13. Using Scotch® Wrinkle-Free Glue Stick, apply glue to the wrong side of the name title, especially around the
edges. Attach it to the page centered between the photos top edge of the page.

14. Using Scotch® Precision Scissors, cut a 12 inch long piece of both the blue and beige ribbon.
15. Using the precision tip of Scotch® Clear Glue, attach the blue ribbon about 1/2 inch from the bottom edge of the
photos and attach the beige ribbon centered on top of the blue ribbon.
16. Using Scotch® Vellum Tape, apply strips of tape to the wrong side of the top, bottom and sides of vellum age
label. Attach the label to the striped scrapbooking paper, centered between the bottom of edge of the ribbon and
the side edges of the page.

17. Sew the embroidery floss through the holes of each of the buttons in a “X” pattern.
18. Using Scotch® Quick-Dry Adhesive, apply glue to the back of the buttons and attach them centered on top of
the beige ribbon about an inch apart.
19. Punch holes in the corners of each of the vellum mattes, including the age label and insert the blue brads to
complete the design.
