After ceremonies, Automatrics Director Richard Taylor
presented the Mtrack Active’s secure RF location technology,
portability, ease of installation and transference to
Volkswagen, Audi AG, Samantha Becket from NFU Mutual
and Anders Edvardsson from the Insurance association of
Sweden.

security providers who attended the event run in association
with Thatcham.
In summary, the UK sets some of the highest vehicle security
standards. The award winning global manufacturers have
fully embraced security needs and continue to improve
security features.
Thatcham leads the world in vehicle security evaluation and
represents a key centre of excellence with Thailand and
Sweden now following the UK Thatcham Model.
Thatcham CEO Mr. Peter Shaw highlighted the importance
for the industry to keep ahead of evolving serious organised
crime. Peter detailed vehicle software weakness which
represented a new threat from hackers. This latest theft
trend of highly skilled criminals reprogramming vehicle key
codes through the vehicle Onboard Diagnostic Port (OBD).
Other statistics included a continuance of the downward
trends in theft frequency but with an upward trend in theft
claim value through an increase in higher valued vehicles
being stolen.
Ultimately vehicles will still be stolen through varying methods
including physically lifting vehicles. This reinforces
Automatrics supporting role as the Mtrack Active high
performance theft recovery service, a service derived from
proven technology with over 80,000 mtrack units
manufactured by Abax installed throughout Europe.
