Inspected and found to be “excellent” –
thanks to highly efficient heating technology
Gigantic and ultra-modern. The huge building
complex Watermark Place in London is an office
building with 14 storeys and a floor space of
42,350 m². Shortly after its completion, the building was awarded the BREEAM classification
“Excellent” for sustainable building, which means:
realising the minimisation of the consumption
of energy and resources. A contributory factor
to achieving this was the installation of the very
latest, environmentally friendly gas condensing
boilers RENDAMAX 3604, which significantly
undercut the NOx emission values for the best
BREEAM standard.
The energy-efficient gas condensing boilers from
the RENDAMAX 3600 series supply the fan coils,
underfloor heating systems, radiators, warm-air
circulation heating systems and air conditioning

The RENDAMAX 3604 gas condensing boiler produces a highly
efficient output per ground area of around 380 kW/m² and an
output-to-weight ratio of 0.98 kW/kg. This is approx. 14 kW per m²
greater output than a comparable boiler that also almost weighs
twice as much, with far bigger dimensions. The modulating, watercooled premix burner ensures maximum combustion efficiency –
and what is more with extremely low NOx emission values of just
11.5 mg/kWh, i.e. significantly below the BREEAM standard.

BREEAM – the international certificate for sustainability
There are various rating systems and certificates governing
the sustainability of buildings. BREEAM (Building Research
Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is the most
widely used certification system, which was comprehensively
updated in 2008.
In eight assessment categories, BREEAM awards a seal of quality
in four grades: excellent, very good, good or average. The
criteria take account of effects on global, regional, local and indoor level. To date, over 100,000 buildings have been certified
and over 500,000 registered in accordance with BREEAM.
