Northeast Lighthouse Tour
& Niagara Falls
Day 1
We begin our journey by heading east . The first stop on our
trip will be at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site and
Museum in Springfield, IL. We’ll see where he lived for 24
years and the difficult road he traveled as president. After
our visit there, we will head to Danville, IL.
Day 2
We will visit Grissom Air Museum to see many historic airplanes and
other Air Force memorabilia. Then, we’ll travel to Shipshewana, IN,
a quaint little Amish town where we will explore some of their really
neat shops. We’ll also drive out to the Guggisberg Cheese Factory
and sample a few of their outstanding cheese selections.
Day 3
After a little more shopping in the Amish stores, we’ll go to
Menno-Hof, a museum and education center dedicated to the
early Christian church. We’ll then travel to Elkhart, IN where we’ll
visit the RV Hall of Fame Museum and learn the history of RVing
from early 1913. Our final stop is our hotel in Houghton Lake, MI.
Day 4
After a nice drive across northern Michigan, we’ll take a
Ferry Ride to Mackinac Island. Once there, we’ll embark
on a scenic Carriage Tour of the island. We’ll then sit on
the largest porch in America at the Grand Hotel and
relax there a bit before some free time for shopping or
biking. We’ll spend the night in Mackinaw City, MI.

Day 5
Today we travel to Sault Ste. Marie where we cross the border into
Canada. On the way we will visit the Great Shipwreck Museum
and Whitefish Point Lighthouse where you’ll learn about the many
rescues made and lives saved on Lake Michigan. We’ll also visit the
Iroquois Lighthouse before heading to our hotel in Sudbury, ON.

Day 6
This is the day we see the Canadian side of the magnificent
Niagara Falls. We take a ride on the renowned Hornblower,
where you’ll enjoy the cool mist from the falls. We’ll also see
the Floral Gardens of Niagara and the Floral Clock.
We spend the night on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.
Day 7
This morning we’ll go to the American side of Niagara
Falls and spend our time on Goat Island. Weather
permitting, we’ll have a picnic near the beautiful waterfalls.
There’s lots to see and do here before we start on our path
home. We spend the night in Sandusky, OH.
Day 8 & 9
This morning we’ll visit Snooks Dream Cars. A neat little museum in Bowling
Green, OH. This afternoon we will visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and
Museum and take a ride around the famous 2 1/2 mile track. We spend the
night in Terre Haute, IN. On day 9, we head home to Missouri with a short
stop at the Gateway Arch and Old Courthouse Museum in St. Louis. You’ll be
sad the trip is over, but glad to be home.
