BREAD BAKING ON A STICK AT THE RUMING MILL
The story is about the gnomes who live together in the “Seppenholz-forest“ and try to resolve
their daily problems. The trail begins at the mill walk, passes the herbal garden, on to the
Ruming mill and up the Ellmaustein path.
Watch the baking of wood-oven farmhouse bread on Tuesdays, and the milling demonstration on Fridays, and bake your own bread on a stick over a camp-fire.

Start of the hike is the centre of Faistenau towards the Lidaun peak on the west side.
Here there are five information boards each with a quiz question. Five letters give you the
correct answer – and at the Tourist Office in Faistenau a surprise awaits you. At the end
of the trail is the bear‘s cave where you will also experience something special.
Walking time approx. ca. 3 ½ hrs.

HORSE EXPERIENCE IN FAISTENAU
Riding with a difference at the Hochegg stables
A fun afternoon all about horses – on horseback – and with horses. Learn all about a Norica
horse, feel it‘s movement, grooming, saddling and mounting a horse and some stunts too.
Schooled riding supervision, horse walk, riding. Relaxation for adults, children‘s birthday

WOODLAND CLIMBING PATH IN FAISTENAU
Thursday from 9.30 a.m. except on Bank Holidays.
Near the centre of Faistenau in a woodland clearance you will find this new recreational
park. The climbing course with 60 stations (of different difficulty grades and a climbing wall
etc.) leads through the trees above ground. From the car park to the course there is a path
suitable for prams.
RUG WEAVING IN HOF BY SALZBURG
Visit Frau Sickinger‘s weaving studio and make your own small rug or watch as a carpet
is woven. Also possible on other weekdays by appointment.

MILL HIKING PATH IN EBENAU
Accessible any time, Starting point: car park Keflau in Tiefbrunnau
The romantic mill hiking path passes altogether seven historical water mills (Pertill mill
– Lucky Place) to the Natural Monument “Plötz“ (Lucky Place), a romantic gorge with
imposing 50m. waterfall, rock pools, cascading water and five mills.
Round tour approx. 2 ½ hrs – middle grade difficulty.

FAIRYTALE TRAIL IN FAISTENAU
The fairytale on the Schafbachalm tells the story of a magical gnome who with the aid
of an elderberry twig can regain his original form. How the story ends you will find out
when you follow the fairytale trail along the Schafbach stream in Faistenau
