Industrial machining processes depend upon cutting oils for

Expanding Mandrels
K.O. Lee’s Expanding mandrels
are a time-tested tool for grinding, turning
and milling operators. used in production
lines, tool rooms and home work shops,
these mandrels will hold work from thin
sleeves and bushings to heavy casting and
forgings. K.O. Lee’s mandrels are sized
to fit 3/8” to 5 1/2” (9.5 to 139.7 mm)
holes.
The K.O. Lee Bench and Surface Plate Provides an accurate means
for inspection of all types of work. Work pieces can be mounted between centers, in V-rests or on a precision ground surface plate. Runout is shown on the
dial indicator, as work is rotated by hand. Side runout or camming action can be
checked with a second indicator. Parts without centers can be easily checked with
the work holding V-rests, which are furnished as standard equipment.
Rigidly mounted on base with top and side locks, tailstocks can be positioned any
place on the T-slot, the BC22R quick release tailstock has an adjustable setting
for spring load. Spring adjustment can be made without changing relation of center to work. Work can be placed in position or removed easily with the use of the
quick release lever. The centers are produced from an alloy steel, which has been
hardened and precision ground. Optional carbide centers are available.
Use of unit is not restricted to one indicator. Three indicator stands are
standard with the BC3 and can be positioned any place on the surface plate.
Dial gauge pointer conveniently contacts piece. Dial indicators are not furnished with this unit.
There is a K.O. Lee expanding mandrel
set for every shop. Any mandrel may be
purchased separately for production operations. A full set of K.O. Lee expanding mandrels will eliminate making and
stocking straight arbors for every job.
A large bearing surface on all sleeves
provides a positive grip on heavy jobs,
prevents slip and chatter and holds thin
sleeves and bushings without distortion.
Work can be held in any position on the
sleeve and may overhang on either or both
ends for facing operations.
Auxiliary centers are a K.O. Lee feature,
providing a large bearing surface and oil
reservoir. The auxiliary centers also prevent damage to arbor centers, prolong arbor life and are inexpensive to replace.
