Acts 4:13 is one of my favorite verses in the entire Bible –Then, over in Acts 17:6 we see that it is said of these ordinary men that, “these who have turned the world upside down have come here too”. World Changers: Ordinary People Making an Extraordinary Difference is our current Sunday Morning sermon series from the book of Acts. I am excited to see how God is going to use Locust Hill to make a difference in our community and around the world as we Gather, Grow, Give, and Go! This month, we will finish our Journey Through the New Testament on Sunday evenings. I hope the Journey has been as meaningful in your life as it has in mine. Please make plans now to join us for worship on Sunday, May 31st at 6:00 p.m. as Dr. Don Wilton from First Baptist Church Spartanburg will be here to conclude this Journey. He will be preaching from the book of Revelation and you do not want to miss it! Jason&Farr& & Associate%Pastor% & & & & & The role of Sunday School and its impact on the church is vital to the health of the church as well as in the community we live. Sunday School is a key ingredient in the recipe for building and growing a successful ministry here at Locust Hill. Not only does the current generation need it, but if we intend to partner with parents to prepare the next generation of children to follow Christ faithfully and advance the Kingdom, we will need adults and parents alike who are being well-trained for this awesome responsibility. The effective adult Sunday School class is a place where adults can learn and respond to the word of God in a systematic and consistent process as well as develop a network of strong and supportive relationships. That is my desire for the Sunday School ministry at Locust Hill. The disciple-making process that begins in Sunday School should extend into the church, the home and the community. Adults who are solidly equipped in the Word will be more confident and capable of leading others to love the Lord and respond to His love by obeying His commands. Toward that end let us seek to develop an effective and strategic Sunday School & Discipleship ministry with the following goals in mind: • Eclipse 210 average in Sunday School (highest since 2007). • Eclipse 310 average in Sunday Worship (highest since 2005). • Develop & Implement a strategy for Assimilating new and current members into the life of the church. Together we can take Sunday School and Locust Hill to new heights as we reach, teach, care and share for those in our church and our community. Will you join me in this effort?
