Sorting Objects into ‘a’ and ‘an’ hoops—is it ‘a’
apple or ‘an’ apple—which sounds better?
Room 21 Year 2/3
Room 21 has been learning many things
this term, including:
How fast can you go? Did you
add all cards correctly?
Maths – we’ve been exploring mass and
using words like grams and kilograms,
tonnes, hefting, heavy, heaviest, light,
lightest, gravity and weight. We also do
‘flash addition’ regularly to improve our
recall of addition facts faster.
In English we’ve learnt about the articles
‘a’ and ‘an’. We like playing a game with
hoops to sort out our objects using the
correct ‘article’ hoop to match the noun.
In Spelling we’ve started using THRASS
‘rap’ songs and letter combinations to
help with our spelling.
By the students of Room 21
and Ms Jagiello
Grams or Kilograms? Which is the best
measure to use?
How heavy is your object? Compare your object
to another by hefting? Which is lighter/heavier?
