In the Willow Theatre…
Julian Velard ONE NIGHT ONLY!
London-based, New York native & singer-songwriter
Julian Velard hooks audiences with his piano-based
pop tunes & storytelling, reminiscent of Billy Joel &
Elvis Costello. With a style The Sunday Times calls
“catchy but complicated; a surprisingly rare
combination,” Velard turns the piano-pop tunesmith
stereotype on its ear with a most refreshing twist: a
biting, 21st century wit in a stylish package – think
Harry Connick, Jr. with the panache of a Brooklyn
hipster. Audiences agree Julian is best seen live & no
shows are ever the same. Rated PG-13. Saturday, October 4 at 8pm. Tickets $25.
Everyday Rapture - presented by The Boca Raton Theatre Guild

Art in Public Places
The Gold Coast Quilter’s Guild is a member of the Sunshine State Quilters Association. The members meet
monthly for “contemporary quilting bee’ sessions. Each quilt is made of individual squares and then joined
together to make the larger quilt. The quilts on display are not for sale. In addition to her portrait, wedding and
Bar Mitzvah photography, local photographer Christeen Pozniak creatively captures the essence of her many
travel destinations. Her work has appeared in magazines and art shows. These exhibitions will be on display
during the month of October at the James A. Rutherford Community Center in Patch Reef Park and can be
viewed Monday – Friday, 8 am – 10 pm; Saturday, 8 am – 5 pm; and Sunday, 10 am – 5 pm. For more information
call 561-367-7035.
Megan Castellon creates work from sculpture to relief paintings using mostly found objects, each piece
displaying a balance of the macabre and beauty. Megan currently resides in Miami where she continues to pursue
her career in the art as a commission painter and has shown in several exhibitions throughout Florida. The exhibit
will be on display during the month of October at the Boca Raton Community Center, 150 Crawford Boulevard
and can be viewed Monday – Friday, 9 am – 9 pm and Saturday, 9 am – 1 pm. For more information call 561-3937807.
Halloween at Gumbo Limbo
Halloween in the Hammock – Saturday, October 25
Halloween in the Hammock is back! Once again, ghostly guides will lead groups through a haunted Ashley Trail,
around the tanks, ending in the Nature Center. This year participants will have a new riddle to solve!
Invaders from another land, they slithered, crawled, and grew.
Help us find them quickly and stop the damage they can do.
Take a spooky nighttime walk, through dangers big and small.
Only you can help us now; which is the worst of all?
Join us on a nature walk with our ghostly ghoulish guides for some
creepy, crawly Halloween fun! Costumes welcome! Don’t forget your
camera for a photo op with Luna! The Halloween in the Hammock tour
lasts about an hour, and goes through some very dark areas. Please don’t
bring flashlights, as your guide will light the way! Once you start, there is
no going back. For these reasons, this program is limited to children ages
6 and older. All children under 18 must sign up and attend with a paid
adult. Walks depart every half hour from 6:30-9:00 pm.
Advance Reservations by 4pm Oct 24: Member $10 per person
Non-member $15 per person. Day-of reservations and walks-ins
(space not guaranteed): $20 per person
