OUR FABULOUS FALL
Over the past several months, friends, supporters and members of L’Arche North Bay have been busy organizing several
fundraising & social events to support our Community. On October 20th, the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption hosted
our second annual spaghetti supper, organized by members of our Board with the help of many friends and supporters.
The supper was held in the Church hall and there were many people who attended including a group of friends from
L’Arche Sudbury.
On November 17th, Holy Name Catholic Church hosted our annual Craft Sale in their hall. It was a great success raising
over $900 with a variety of vendors participating, including the Aktion Club. The Aktion Club is a socially active group
sponsored by the Kiwanis of North Bay. Its members are made up of adults with Intellectual Disabilities who participate
in helping out through various ways in the greater North Bay community. Past and current members from L’Arche include: Wayne, Ellen, Rob, Laurie, and Pierre.
The Craft Sale included a luncheon with a number of community members and volunteers helping out. We were also
able to show-case the beautiful and unique hand-made pendants made by the core members at the Hosanna Day Program. All proceeds from the Craft Sale went towards the Hosanna Fund, which helps to support our core members in
various community activities.
We were also honoured again this year by the students of Scollard Hall who made a $1000 donation to L’Arche North
Bay. On November 22nd, the school held a dress-down day and pizza lunch. Members from Cam’s Place attended the
lunch and we were invited to set up an information display, with brochures about our L’Arche Community.
L’Arche North Bay would like to thank all of our supporters who helped make our Spaghetti Supper a success. We would especially like to thank those who contributed financially, as well as, the many people who volunteered their time, energy and
talents.
