International Website:
ORT Braude Academic College of Engineering
www.braude.ac.il/english/
It has been decided by the relevant individuals at ORT Braude Academic College of
Engineering that the international website (the English-language website) of the College is in
need of a complete revision.
The college began the process of website revision by choosing a board to handle the issue.
Then, using the budget graciously provided by the IRIS Project, had a complete website
analysis/audit done by the Brenn-White Group. This was comprised of the submission of a
questionnaire regarding the current website and the institution’s goals for the improved website
completed by the board.
The Brenn-White group then used this as an assistive tool in their analysis of the website.
The Brenn-White group returned to Braude a complete website audit as well as a revised
sitemap.
The board at Braude met to go over these documents, and agreed on the following order of
the actions:
1. Review in detail the XL/sitemap they sent us to see if it is what we truly want in regards to structure.
2.
3.
4.
5.
Rewrite/edit/create content as needed (with appropriate approvals—i.e. department heads, etc.)
Have professional editing to content done
Get an information architecture prototype (visual representation/design quote)
Get feedback from foreign students who were here on the new version of the website before it goes
life.
We will update the content and the site map now, but the design and aesthetics will be updated at the same
time as the Hebrew website.
The remaining budget is being devoted to content editing on the website.
The current website content includes information on Undergraduate and graduation
programs of the college, industry relationships, academic conferences, campus life, research, and
general information regarding the administration and organization of the college.

Beit Berl: State of progress in the development of website
A new website in English was launched in Fall 2014, and it includes an overview of Beit Berl's faculties,
programs and units. In addition, it provides information for incoming international students on the
admissions process. See http://www.beitberl.ac.il/English .
Done in haste, we feel that the content – text and visuals (gifs) - need improvement, and is still lacking
important information, mainly about our faculty. We have enlisted the help of the Bren-White Group, who
will assess the website and advise us on changes that need to be done and/or additions that are necessary,
both in content and visuals. Concurrently, we are developing a database of members of faculty with
information on research interests, cv's, courses taught, etc., to be embedded in the website.
The Bren-White Group performed an assessment of our site and are now in the process of rewriting and
editing pages. Some of the visuals will be added and some changed.
Bren-White will not be involved in changes to infrastructure or templates. Beit Berl College's Hebrew site
is currently undergoing a major overhaul, including the development of new templates and a new look.
The English website will be in line with the Hebrew site, inasmuch as templates will be identical, only in
English.
Timetable: Step 1 – Assessment - by 30 November 2015 (Done)
Step 2 – Editing of pages and change of visuals – by 31 December 2015 (Done)
Shenkar - The International website
URL: http://www.shenkar.ac.il/en
In 2015 Shenkar has launched a new and improved website that includes English and Arabic versions. A
huge effort was invested in translating information to other languages since we believe the information is
vital and should be accessible to as many people as possible. The English and Arabic versions are being
updated regularly with news and events.
The student exchange section in the website (http://www.shenkar.ac.il/en/pages/student-infrmationexchange-program) is connected directly to the email of the director of international studies, Many Tamar,
for any questions or requests. In addition, her direct phone number is also given.
In order to keep developing Shenkar’s English accessibility we are going to translate all the curriculums
into English and make them available for incoming students prior to their arrival. Furthermore, we plan to
create an online system for applying for exchange, thus making it easier to follow all the incoming
students’ status and make sure their integration goes smoothly.
