Celebrate Canada Day on July 1, 2014
Alder Street Recreation Centre from 2-6 p.m.
Activities will include free public swims,“try it” demonstrations in the pool, children’s crafts,
rock climbing, old-fashioned family games, Aussie X (learn to play “footy” and “netball”), inflatable
features, and “try it” dance demonstrations. Food will be available for purchase.
Fireworks over Island Lake at 10 p.m.
Admission by donation to Island Lake Conservation Area

Taxpayers of the Town of Orangeville are reminded that the first installment of the 2014 Final Tax Bill is
due on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Please note that failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve the taxpayer from the responsibility for payment and/or late penalty charges. Penalty is charged at a rate of
1.25% on the first day of each month following the due date. If you did not receive your tax bill, please

Notice of Public Meeting
Fireworks
No person shall sell or offer for sale fireworks
within the Town without first having obtained
a Licence for the Sale of Fireworks from the
Clerk’s Department at the Municipal Offices, 87
Broadway or www.orangeville.ca
Register Now
No person will be issued a licence to sell or offer
for sale any fireworks to any person in the Town
of Orangeville unless they can provide proof
from the manufacturer that the fireworks were
not assembled using child labour.
No person shall sell or retail in the Town any
fireworks except on Victoria Day and Canada
Day and except on the 7 days immediately
before Victoria Day and Canada Day.
Camps are filling up fast!
On Monday, July 14, 2014 the Council of the
Town of Orangeville will hold a public meeting,
pursuant to Section 12 of the Development
Charges Act, 1997, to present and obtain
public input on the Municipality’s proposed
development charges by-law and underlying
background study.
Except at a fireworks display held pursuant to
a licence issued under By-law 115-2004, as
amended, no person shall set off any fireworks
within the Town of Orangeville except on Victoria Day and Canada Day (or on the day immediately preceding or on the day immediately
following Victoria Day or Canada Day).
All interested parties are invited to attend the
Public Meeting of Council and any person
who attends the meeting may make representations relating to the proposed by-law and
background study. The meeting is to be held:
No person shall set off any fireworks within the
limits of the travelled portion (including any sidewalks) of any public highway, nor in any public
park, nor within the limits of any shopping plaza.

Casual Crossing Guards
Duties include assisting all people to safely
cross the street before school, at meal breaks
and after school on an as needed basis from
September to June each school year.
Preference will be given to those with access
to a vehicle. To obtain this position, you will
be required to consent to a criminal record
check.
Hourly rate: $15.41 - $17.87
