2ND QUARTER 2015

Providing service convenience and affordable financial products
to our members and to the entire island of Oahu are Hickam
Federal Credit Union’s top priorities. That’s why
on April 1st Hickam Federal Credit Union
opened its fifth branch location, an all-new
innovative kiosk branch in the Kahala
Mall. The Kahala Mall kiosk branch is
the first-of-its-kind banking concept in
Hawaii. Credit union members will be
able to conduct many of the typical
banking transactions through self-service
touch-points including an advanced
function ATM, a product and service
browsing bar and concierge station, and an
in-lobby teller terminal capable of conducting
envelope-free check deposits for members.
If you are visiting Kahala Mall or are in the area, stop by! The
Hickam FCU kiosk branch hours are Monday thru Friday 10:00 a.m. to
6:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and closed on Sunday’s and observed
federal holidays. The kiosk is conveniently located near California Pizza Kitchen.
To avoid becoming victim to an identity thief, it is important to keep
personal and financial documents
safe and secure.

Celebrating 78 Years of Member Service
On Saturday, February 28, nearly 1,100 members and
guests gathered at the Hawaii Convention Center for
Hickam Federal Credit Union’s 78th Annual Membership
Celebration. The evening was filled with great food, fun,
and dancing. After a delicious Prime Rib Dinner Buffet
the electrifying Kapena took the stage and filled
the ballroom with beautiful island music and got
guests out of their seats for a dance floor filling
Electric Slide. And the excitement continued,
as guests were asked to pull out their lucky
tickets for door prizes, which included $1,000
in cash prizes and a Grand Prize of a
$1,000 Travel Certificate. And of course,
the evening could not end without late-night
dancing to the popular Nueva Vida featuring
special guest singers Rocky Brown and
Jordan Segundo. We would like to thank all

At Hickam Federal Credit Union we’re not “lion” when we say saving should start
at an early age. It is important for cubs of all ages to learn about good money
management and how to save.
During the month of April, keiki will have the opportunity to go on safari at the
credit union as Hickam Federal Credit Union celebrates National Credit Union

resources available at the credit union to help them cut their way through the jungle

Bewarecof
Cashierí
scCheckcScams
Hickam FCU would like our members to be aware that fraudsters have produced counterfeit cashier’s checks using the
credit union’s information and image to appear legitimate. The fraudsters are using the counterfeit checks to scam victims
by claiming to be from a Mystery Shopper marketing firm. The fraudsters ask the victims to purchase gift cards with funds
from a fraudulent cashier’s check. Once the gift cards are purchased the victim is then asked to send the card number and
PIN information on the back of the gift card to the fraudster.
Individuals in Hawaii and several states across the Mainland have received these checks and deposited them to their
financial institution, which in turn alerted Hickam FCU of the counterfeit checks. If you receive a solicitation from a Mystery
Shopper and receive a Hickam FCU cashier’s check, do not deposit or make any purchases. If you have questions to the
authenticity of the check, feel free to call the credit union at 808-423-1391 or toll-free from the mainland at 1-800-432-4328.
