Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee
Wednesday, July 29, 6:30 pm
Registration deadline July 10
The publication of a newly discovered
novel from Harper Lee, bestselling author
of the Pulitzer Prize-winning classic, To Kill
a Mockingbird is an historic literary event.
Originally written in the mid-1950s, Go Set
a Watchman was the novel Harper Lee first
submitted to her publishers before To Kill a
Mockingbird. The manuscript was
discovered in 2014. It features many of the
characters from To Kill a Mockingbird some
twenty years later. Returning home to
Maycomb to visit her father, Jean Louise
Finch—Scout—struggles with personal and
political issues involving Atticus, society,
and the Alabama town that shaped her.
All are welcome to participate in the
discussion, but registration is required in
order to check out a copy of the book
(available July 14).
