Jingle at the window Tideo
Jingling, jingling, jingling Joe
Jingle at the window Tideo
Way up in the skies, a butterfly flies
When way down below
A caterpillar goes slow
He munches and munches
On a jungle leaf lunches
“I’m so full and fat,” he says with a pat
“I’ll spin a cocoon by the light of the moon
Curl into my bed and sleep,” he said
Not a sound did we hear
Till the special moment was near
The weeks soon passed by
And out flew a butterfly!

Said, “Let’s find the jungle beat!”
They found some metals that were left by a king
And said, “Hey! That’s a mighty cool ring!”
All the little monkeys at the end of the week
Get together for the jungle beat
They play all the instruments that they have found
And say, “Hey! That’s the coolest sound around!”

Lesson Plan 34 - Concert Preparation
• Use the concert grid as the lesson plan.
• Assign each class a color. Review their color several times during the classes prior to the rehearsals, and explain that they
•
•
•
•
•
should look for their color line on the floor at the rehearsal and concert.
The lines of colored tape keep the children in a straight line and reassure them that they are in the right place at the rehearsal
and concert.
Discuss concert manners:
-- Use “shoulder holders” to keep mallets quiet.
-- If a friend is talking, give a quiet signal by putting your index finger in front of your mouth. Saying “shhhhhh,” will just make
more noise.
-- When the teacher shows fingers 1, 2, 3 and raises a hand, palm up, it means to stand up. When the teacher’s hand lowers,
palm down, it means to sit down.
-- Do not turn around; always face the audience. For hand clapping with a partner, both partners stand sideways.
-- After the signal, “1, 2, 3, take a bow,” slowly lower your head, bending at the waste and looking at your shoes, thinking “do
you like my shoes?” Slowly raise thinking “I like them very much!”
Practice their specific concert parts as you explain or demonstrate what the other classes will be doing.
Invite all students to come to any other class of the same age group. If they do attend another class, have them play the parts
of their own class, not the class they are visiting.
See “Singing for the Concert” and use some of the ideas to make the needed repetition fun as you improve the performance.
Send home detailed concert information:
-- What to wear
-- The location
-- Time of concert and recommended arrival time
-- Lyrics to the songs
-- Request for assistance with refreshment if needed
-- In addition to sending a flyer home, email the same information to the parents.

Said, “Let’s find the jungle beat.”
They found some metals that were left by a king
And said, “Hey! That’s a mighty cool ring.”
Verse 4: All the little monkeys at the end of the week,
Get together for the jungle beat.
They play all the instruments that they have found
And say, “Hey! That’s the coolest sound around.”
