Madame
To celebrate the release of Yash Raj Films’ ‘Fan‘ on 15th
April 2016, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has unveiled an
adaptation of his wax figure at Madame Tussauds London. He
couldn’t resist a selfie with his own wax figure as it was
inspired by the celebrity obsessed character he plays in the
film (Gaurav). The change of outfit for the wax figure,
transforming Shah Rukh Khan into Gaurav, was the first time
the museum has made such special arrangements for a Bollywood
star. Yash Raj Films’ Fan is produced by Aditya Chopra and
directed by award-winning director, Maneesh Sharma. FAN is a
taut action thriller that examines society’s fixation with
celebrity, where the line between reality and fantasy can
sometimes become blurred.
Khan addressed the UK media to reveal the new wax figure at
the world famous attraction yesterday and said, “Fan is an
emotional thriller. The film is very true to its format and
doesn’t have item songs. The film opens doors for Indian films
that do not have any songs. The story is very unique for India
and even for an international audience. We are moving in the
right direction and hopefully, audiences in the western world
will appreciate the film.”
Segments of Fan were shot at Madame Tussauds London and the
film will see Shah Rukh Khan play a dual role of Bollywood
superstar and an obsessed fan.
Avtar Panesar, Vice President of International Operations,
Yash Raj Films, added, “Yash Raj Films have shared a very
special relationship with Shah Rukh Khan for over two decades.
When attempting to break new boundaries within the realms of
commercial cinema, who better than Shah Rukh Khan to
collaborate with. As always he delivered… and how! Madame
Tussauds London welcomed us with open arms both during the
filming of FAN and now for the promotional tour. We are
immensely grateful to Edward Fuller, Nicole Fenner and their
entire team.”
Shah Rukh Khan then visited London Live, the capital’s TV
channel, where Luke Blackall interviewed the star for the
London Live News show. SRK revealed that during filming for
Fan, he wore Brad Pitt’s jaw from the film Benjamin Button. He
also shared his personal experiences about his own obsessive
fans and stated that London was his second home, and that he
loves the weather! Finally he talked about dining with Prince
William and Kate in India during their recent tour.
Yash Raj Films’ FAN, releases in cinemas worldwide on 15th
April 2016. Produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by awardwinning Director, Maneesh Sharma, FAN is a taut action

Shah Rukh Khan plays dual
role in psychotic thriller
‘Fan’
In a world of labels it’s easy to forget who made sportsmen,
pop singers and matinee idols into stars, superstars and
megastars – the fans. Every fan has their own personal
relationship with their hero – it’s almost a love story. Fan
is the story of Gaurav (Shah Rukh Khan) a young man, 20
something, whose world revolves around the mega movie star
Aryan Khanna (Shah Rukh Khan) or God as he refers to him.
From the by lanes of Delhi, young Gaurav embarks on a journey
to the city of dreams, Mumbai, in order to wish his God on his
birthday. After all, he is Aryan’s biggest fan and even has a
striking resemblance to him – how difficult could it be for
the world biggest fan to get an audience with the world’s
biggest Star. When things don’t go according to plan, Gaurav’s
love and passion for his God turns in to a dangerous obsession
that crosses the fine line.
In an edge of the seat thriller, fan will peel away at both
Gaurav and Aryan’s personalities and characters as the two men
discover people within themselves that even they didn’t know
existed, and we’re left wondering who to sympathize with and
whom to root for – can we really pick a side, after all,
superstars are also human beings but each one of us is also a
fan.
Fan is released on 15th April 2016.

The University has been linked with India for nearly 250
years. Professor William Robertson, Edinburgh’s Principal from
1762 to 1793 and a noted Enlightenment thinker, wrote one of
the earliest European texts to focus on India. Edinburgh’s
first Indian student graduated in 1876 and by the 1920s its
Indian student population was greater than that of any other
UK University. The University of Edinburgh’s India Institute
and its India Liaison Office in Mumbai seek to extend the
University’s relationship with India by encouraging research
collaborations and academic exchanges.
Professor Charlie Jeffery, University of Edinburgh Senior
Vice-Principal, said: “The University of Edinburgh has very
strong ties with India and I am delighted that we are able to
recognise the philanthropic work and career of one of the most
outstanding stars of world cinema. It is a great privilege to
present Shah Rukh Khan with one of our highest honours, a
doctorate of the University.
As India’s population and economy grow, so too does the demand
for world-class education. Our aim at Edinburgh is to build
partnerships and strengthen awareness that will reinforce our
position as the partner of choice for the Indian knowledge
economy.”
