Stepping into God’s Presence
Offertory Sentence
Liturgist
Some experiences are too hard to describe with words. When Peter saw Jesus shining with the radiance of God,
he wanted to do something to honor the moment. Today, our gifts honor the many moments we have seen God
shining through our lives and the life of this church. Let us give knowing that these gifts will bring joy and the
light of Christ to others.

Responsive Reading of Psalm 99
1
The Lord rules. Let the nations tremble.
He sits on his throne between the cherubim. Let the earth shake.
2
Great is the Lord in Zion. He is honored over all the nations.
3
Let them praise his great and wonderful name. He is holy.
4
The King is mighty and loves justice. He has done what is right and fair
5
Honor the Lord our God. Worship at his feet. He is holy.
6
Moses and Aaron were two of his priests. Samuel was one of those who worshiped him.
They called out to the Lord. And he answered them.
7
He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud. They obeyed his laws and the orders he gave them.
8
Lord our God, you answered them. You showed Israel that you are a God who forgives.
9
Honor the Lord our God. Worship at his holy mountain.
Holy, Holy, Holy! The Lord our God is holy.
“Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty”
(There will be a short musical interlude between verses 3 and 4)
Prayer of Confession
Forgive us, O God, when we stumble in the darkness and turn away from your face.
Strengthen us to walk in your brightness and live in your ways.
Enlighten the shadows that keep us from growing in your love and light.
Shower us with your grace, that we might shine as your people upon this earth.
In Christ’s most holy name we pray. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon
Responsively
On mountaintops and in valleys, in our homes and in our hearts, God knows us better than we know ourselves,
and God forgives us when we cannot forgive ourselves.
By God's mercy, we are forgiven; by God's mercy, we are made whole;
by God's mercy, we are equipped to serve others. Thanks be to God. Amen.
