PRINTED IN THE USA NO.142LF Mary Ann (Dunn) Ries was born on March 3, 1938 to Glenn and Lucy (Reinesch) (Hettinger) Dunn in South Dakota. She attended Helling Country school for eight years, Notre Dame in Mitchell, SD for a year and graduated from White Lake High School in 1956. She went on to earn her teaching degree from Southern State College in Springfield, SD.' Mary Ann then taught in Tyndall, Sioux Falls, at Helling Country School and Carroll Country School. On November 26, 1965 Mary Ann was united in marriage to Eugene Ries. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Platte, SD and had served on the St. Willibrord Altar Society. Mary Ann enjoyed gardening, embroidery, sewing, reading and making Sunday dinner for all of her family. Mary Ann Ries, 76, of White Lake, SD passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Avera Queen of Peace Health Services in Mitchell, SD. Grateful for having shared in Mary Ann's life: her husband of over 48 years, Eugene Ries of White Lake, SD; three daughters and five grandsons: Ann (Mike) Wojciechowski of Geddes, SD, Michael Wojciechowski, Jr., Kyle Wojciechowski and Joshua . Wojciechowski; Marilyn Ries of Mitchell, SD; Linda (Mark) Bruning of Onida, SD, Austin Bruning and Braeden Bruning; three brothers: Gerald (Margaret) Hettinger of White Lake, SD, Robert Dunn of White Lake, SD and Ronald (Joan) Dunn of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters: Margaret (Hettinger) Haines of Platte, SD and Jean (Dunn) Biteler of Sioux Fall, SD; a sister-in-law, Arlette (Ries) Hettinger; along with many nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was preceded in death by: her parents; three infant brothers: Norbert, Lawrence and George; a brother, Lawrence Hettinger; and two brothers-in-law: Loren Haines and Emroy Biteler.
