them smile or where to go to
get help, they responded.

readers like to eat and they all
have a favorite spot.

between our readers for Best
Breakfast. Just drive by either
place and you’ll see why Pointer
Cafe, Mineral Point and

were the top vote getters this
year.
Also getting votes were
restaurants reaching from
Mineral Point to Barneveld,
including Pleasant Ridge which
is found outside Dodgeville in a
peaceful country setting.
and is also known for its tasty
custard.
Best Dinner
Bob’s Bitchin’ BBQ also won
this category and for proof,
notice the parking areas in
downtown Dodgeville, or rather
the lack of them, Tuesday
through Sunday evenings.
Bob’s draws people from all over
so having someone you know at
the next table can be hit or
miss.
A short drive into the beautiful Southwest Wisconsin countryside is needed to get to the
second place winner which is
Ludden Lake Golf Course and
Supper Club, rural Mineral Point.
Best Buffet
If a buffet is your choice for
good food and selection this
area has that too. Winning the
Best Buffet category is Pizza

Best Cheese
If you want cheese, perhaps
the best place to go is to a
cheesemaker or to a cheese
store. Our readers say the
best place to buy cheese in the
area is from the Hook’s Cheese
Company in Mineral Point.
Hook’s Cheese is frequently in
the news either winning awards
with their cheese or with offering aged cheddar which has
been aged further than anyone
else has tried.
The selection of cheeses at
Shurman’s Wisconsin Cheese in
Dodgeville is good enough to
get the votes for second place.
Best Coffee
Coffee time. Take it to work,
or in your car when you have
miles to drive or just have a
break from your busy day. You
will find it here and enjoyment
is guaranteed.
Winning first place in the
Best Coffee category is Kwik
Trip with area locations in
Dodgeville and Mineral Point.
Their coffee bar features selections to meet any taste....flavored, regular, Columbian, dark
roast and others.
Second place goes to a new
face among Dodgeville businesses which offers a wide variety of coffee, both warm and
cold. That distinction goes to
Cobblestone Coffee House in
the building in downtown
Dodgeville that Dennis Marklein
has developed as a great addi-
tion to the community.
Best French Fries
When it comes to the Best
French Fries, we’ll bet no one
can eat just one. Our readers
like McDonald’s French Fries
the best and the fast food
chain has worked to make them
healthier when it comes to the
oil they use.
Our readers also say the
French Fries that can be
ordered at Culver’s are also
good to the taste. Second
place goes to the resturant
that got its start in Sauk City.
Best Steak
Got that hunger for a good
steak cooked to perfection?
This year the Best Steak can
be found at Ludden Lake, Golf
Course and Supper Club, rural
Mineral Point, according to our
readers.
Second place in the Best
Steak category goes to Tower
Junction, between Cobb and
Montfort.
Our readers also mentioned
seven other places they visit to
get their “beef” on.
Best Pizza
It can be comfort food or just
a tasty meal. We are talking
about the Best Pizza the food
choice when the craving hits.
Winning the distinction of
Best Pizza is Dodgeville’s Pizza
Hut.
Always a good choice is the
second place winner, Midway
Bar and Grill, Mineral Point.

The work that goes into selecting
the "Best Of" winners by our staff is
rewarded by one thing....YOU.
To all of you who took time to
vote in The Dodgeville Chronicle’s
“Best Of” for 2015 we can say loud
and clear, THANK YOU.
Once again we found out that our
readers enjoy shopping in this area
and they love the good service and
special attention they receive when
they do. We had new winners this
year as more people took time to
vote for their favorite. In an economy where every dollar counts it is a
tribute to our area businesses
that our readers spend those dollars here and receive value for
what they spend. It is our businesses who answer the call when it is
time to put out the high school
yearbook, purchase shirts for the
youth programs, help out on programs for our senior citizens,
donate prizes for raffles and
events, support those who are ill or
devastated by a major catastrophe...the list goes on.
Thank you to all who took the
time to thank them though your
votes. We are presenting the winners and others who were mentioned here.
Stop in and congratulate them,
thank them for being in business
and patronize them often.
