“Let’s Read Programme”
Read the assigned passage with your child.
• Your child will be given a booklet containing
15 short Chinese passages. He/she will be
assigned to read one short passage per week.
• Spend a few minutes everyday to read and
practise the assigned reading passage with
your child. Get your child to read aloud.
• Circle the star that you think your child
deserves. Remember to give lots of praise and
encouragement in order to motivate him/her
to read better.

Re-read with your child
•The purpose of rereading is to help your child
develop fluency and practise monitoring his/her
own reading to make sure he/she comprehends
the passage.
•We have also included some questions that you
can do with your child after he/she has finished
reading the passage.
