The University of Massachusetts Club provides the ideal spot for your Boston
wedding celebration. The Club offers a beautiful selection of full-service private
party and event rooms, which will accommodate up to 206 guests with a dance
floor, as well as a variety of amenities to make your ceremony and reception
complete. Guests are accompanied by the panoramic view of Boston Harbor and
the city. With spacious banquet and ceremony rooms, you and your guests can
enjoy each other’s company while lavishing in a unique and fun atmosphere that

Each and every ceremony and reception hosted at the University of Massachusetts
Club receives personalized service and outstanding food and beverages, along
with a number of services and complimentary amenities, including:

• Setup access at least 2 hours prior to wedding
• Vendor setup access at least 3 hours prior to wedding

Custom Wedding Cake
A customized wedding cake is included with your reception at the University of Massachusetts Club. Wedding cakes are
provided and delivered from Konditor Meister bakery. The cake must be ordered for a minimum of 50 guests. If your guest
count falls below the minimum, an additional fee is applied to reach the minimum. If you choose to work with a bakery
other than Konditor Meister, a cake-cutting fee of $5.00 per guest will be applied.

Additional Details
Food & Beverage Minimums
All events are required to meet a food and beverage minimum. A food and beverage minimum is the amount a host must
spend in order to secure a private space at the Club. If the minimum is not met, the difference may be charged as a
minimum fee the food and beverage minimum for a weekend rental at the University of Massachusetts Club is $25,000.
Ceremony Fee
On-site ceremony rooms are available for groups who meet a $25,000 food and beverage minimum. The Ceremony Fee for
attendance below 110 guests is $1,000. The Ceremony Fee for attendance of 110-150 guests is $2,000. The $2,000
Ceremony Fee reflects the required rental of chivari chairs for the ceremony and reception. This fee includes a rehearsal
prior to the wedding, a wedding coordinator to assist in the execution of the ceremony, room setup and breakdown, sound
equipment, and complimentary lemon water for your guests.
Taxes & Gratuity
A sales tax of 6.25% and a 0.75% meals tax will be added to all banquet charges, and a 22% Surcharge will be added to all
food and beverage services.The Surcharge consists of a 14% Service Charge, a portion of which may be distributed by the
Club to certain food and beverage service employees and a 8% Administrative Fee that is used for the Club’s general
expenses.
Club Rental Fee
A Club rental fee is required for all weekend events. An additional HVAC fee of $150 per hour is also required for all off
hours events.
Additional Details
Linen
Standard white banquet linen and champagne colored napkins are complimentary. Specialty upgraded linens can be
provided from our preferred vendors at an additional cost.
Seating
For both seated and station dinners, we provide complimentary use of our custom made wooden banquet chairs. Elegant
chivari chairs or satin chair covers can be rented from our preferred vendors in the color of your choice.
Candles
The Club provides white votive candles for both cocktail and dinner tables. Boston fire safety codes restrict the use of open
flame candles. Outside candles are permitted with the exception of those not surrounded by a vessel that covers the flame.
Vendors
The Club offers a listing of preferred vendors that not only meet but also exceed our professional standard. You are not
required to work exclusively with our listing. We do however, require contact information for your chosen vendors prior to
the wedding so we may coordinate setup, load-in and parking.
Overnight Accommodations
The Club has established relationships with several area hotels within walking distance to our location. Please inquire about
options available for preferred rates and room blocks.
Bar Requirements
In the time-honored tradition of fine private clubs, club staff does not handle cash. There will be $100 fee for the bartender
and the beverage is billed on consumption. Payment for beverages is expected at the event’s conclusion unless other
arrangements are made in advance.
Service Time
The schedule of service will be followed according to the contract. Additional overtime charges will be applied should the
host choose to extend the event past contracted time. An overtime fee of $250 per half-hour will be applied.
Enhancements
Chivari Chairs
Add the “Wow” factor to your event with sleek and modern wooden chavari chairs. Chairs are available in fruitwood,
silver, and gold. Padded cotton seat cushions are included and available in a wide variety of colors. Delivery and
setup include in price. Padded seat cushions are also available in other fabrics at an additional cost.
Table Runners
Pull colors and style into your table scape with satin table runners, available in multiple coordinating colors. Approximately
$10 per runner. Price will vary depending on your fabric and length of runner.
Table Overlays & Specialty Linen
Overlays add color, texture and personalization to your guests’ table. Various fabrics and colors are available upon request.
Elegant floor length linen is available in an abundance of fabrics, textures, and colors. Pricing will vary depending on your
selection.
Chargers
Incorporating charges can add that extra sparkle to your table. Charges are available in multiple styles and colors to
suit your personality.
Napkins
Add colored cotton napkins to the table to coordinate with your wedding colors. A wide variety of colors are available
to choose from. Colored napkins in other fabrics are also available for an additional cost.
Payment Schedule
Terms & Conditions
A signed contract and nonrefundable deposit of $2,000 is required to guarantee the reservation of the date and the club. A
subsequent deposit of 50% of the estimated balance is due 60 days prior to the event. The final balance is due a minimum of
7 business days prior to the event. Your final payment will be based on the guarantee you provide 7 business days prior to
the event. All event charges should be paid in full prior to the event. All deposits are non-refundable. Deposits are payable
by credit card or check. Please note, a credit card is required to be kept on file for incidentals.
Cancellation Policy
Any event with a predetermined menu cancelled 30 days prior to the function will be charged 100% of the anticipated
amount. In the event Member/Client cancels the function for any reason, the Club will retain the nonrefundable deposit. In
addition, the Club will be entitled to a cancellation fee as follows:
90 days or less prior to the event - 50% of the estimated cost of the function
60 days or less prior to the event - 75% of the estimated cost of the function
30 days or less prior to the event - 100% of the estimated cost of the function
Guarentees
Your guaranteed number of guests is due to the private event department 7 business days prior to the event. In the event
the Club does not receive a guarantee, the number of guests previously indicated on your signed contract will serve as the
guarantee. Actual charges will depend on the guaranteed number or actual attendance at the event, whichever is greater. If
the number in attendance exceeds your guarantee given, the Club may prepare additional meals, if possible, and the host
will be charged a higher rate for each additional guest; the same meal cannot always be promised should your attendance
be greater than your guarantee. The host is to provide a list of each guest’s name and entrée selection 7 business days prior
to the scheduled event date.

Multiple menu selections or special dietary substitutions must be identified with a place card to be supplied by the host.
Place card should indicate each guest’s name, table number and entrée selection. Final menu selections are due 7 business
days prior to the event.
Food and Beverage
The UMass Club must provide all food & beverage. No outside food and beverages are allowed with the exception of
wedding and specialty cakes. Due to health regulations, perishable leftovers may not be removed from the property.
Discounted menus may be offered to children up to 12 years of age.
Alcohol Consumption
Club policy is to have the bar close one half-hour prior to the close of the event. Also, per the Club’s Board of Governors,
the bar can only be open at most 4 hours during a 5-hour event. The Member or event host acknowledges that alcohol sales
are regulated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Club enforces its policies accordingly. The Club reserves the
right to discontinue sales of alcohol to any individual or group of individuals as directed by law or in the best interest of the
Club and its Membership. In the case of such discontinuation, the host continues to be liable for any amounts due to Club
as well as for the conduct of host’s guests.
Terms & Conditions
Liability
The Member or event host is responsible for the conduct of guests without limitation. The University of Massachusetts Club
is not responsible for damage or loss of any merchandise, articles or valuables of the host or of the host’s guests or
contractors, prior to, during, or subsequent to any function. Host is responsible for any damages done to facilities during
the period of time the facilities are subject to the host’s use or the use of any independent contractor hired by the host or
the host’s agent. A damage deposit may be required and a cleaning fee may be assessed if extensive cleaning is required in
the Club or in any part of the building or its grounds.
Non Member Events
As a private club, The University of Massachusetts Club exists for the use of its Members and for friends of the University.
You do not need to be a Member to host your event at the UMass Club. Additionally, Members have the privilege of
sponsoring friends and associates to use the Club. Member Sponsored/ Non Member events require signed Private Event
Contracts, applicable room reservation fees and a deposit for 50% of the estimated charges due 60 days prior to the event.
The remaining balance of estimated charges must be received 7 days in advance. Differences between actual and estimated
charges will be paid to or refunded by the Club within two business weeks from the event. In accordance with the
obligation Members have to the Club as well as to one another, a Member sponsor accepts ultimate responsibility for the
charges and conduct of any individual or group they sponsor at The University of Massachusetts Club.
