Governor’s Corner
Hello everybody – hope everyone had a great
summer – it’s almost over!
The VMA Annual Conference
in Norfolk was really good –
lots of old and new friends . If
you have never been to one of
these conferences you really should try to make
plans to go. The experience gives you a really
good look at what exactly is happening with this
fraternity.
I really want to thank all the co-workers who
attended this year. We really enjoyed having
you in attendance. Congratulations to
Lancaster’s Artie Ransone as he was installed as
VMA State President. We have a great
relationship with Artie and Julie and look
forward to continuing to see them not only at
Lancaster but Callao, too.
Also CALLAO was one of five lodges in the State
to receive an award for Member Retention.
I do ask again that you all contact our Board with
any suggestions you may have for our calendar
of events. We are all here to answer any
questions you may have or to address any
concerns you may have in our Lodge. Please
don’t hesitate to talk to us. Looking forward
to seeing you all in the Lodge.

Greetings Fellow Co-Workers
Just returned from the Annual VMA Conference
in Norfolk. What a wonderful experience – it
was my first conference and now I know why
everyone says “you really need to attend if you
have the opportunity”. Getting to meet new
people, who before you only knew by name, was
a really good experience. We had seven coworkers from Callao attending and it really gave
us an opportunity to realize that all Chapters face
the same obstacles to overcome as we do. The
daily meetings were not only informative but
quite uplifting – and networking outside of the
meetings we were able to find the answers to
specific concerns through the officials and other
chapters. Again, I encourage any of you who
have an opportunity to attend one of these
conferences, please do so.
Our next Chapter meeting will be held on
September 6th with Kathy Cosby hosting as
Higher Degree Chairman. Please come out and
support her as, this too, is the best way to get to
know your co-workers and find out what our
Chapter has planned for the year. By starting out
with the simpler fund raisers you will find it
easier to feel comfortable and work your way up
to becoming perhaps an Officer or Committee
Chairman. You will find it so much easier after
you are comfortable with those you will be
working with.
Until next time... Nancy Ogg, Senior Regent
