Church Roof: As you may have read in our Grand Annual letter,
there is a leak on the rectory side of the church. After investigation,
it is believed that the gutter is leaking and needs to be relined. We
performed a similar replacement on the upper gutter on the
Thurston side a couple of years ago. Because of the narrowness of
the walkway, a lift cannot be brought in; we will have to stage that
side for access. While they are up there, it makes sense to replace
the valley as well. The total cost of this repair is $25,000. Please be
generous to the Grand Annual Collection to help defray the cost. As
always, thank you for your continued generosity!
St. Ann Senior Center—The Center is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM until 1 PM. A light lunch is provided. Raffle gifts and items that have been gently used can be

THIRTY THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME, NOVEMBER 15, 2015
A Note from Father Brian:
Bulletin Connection to the Readings
It may strike us as odd that there are things that the angels
do not know. Of course, it is even more surprising that Jesus—the Son of God—would have been unaware of the
divine schedule for the end of the world. Given all of this,
should it come as any surprise that there are things that God
chooses not to reveal to us right now?
In wisdom, God knows when timing is right to reveal divine plans to us. The fact that we do not know everything helps to remind us that we are not God. In this era
of instant Internet information, it is hard to accept the fact
that there are some things we just cannot know. Of course,
this reality assists in keeping us humble, reminding us that
we do not dare to know everything because we are in the
powerful hands of God. Accepting what God chooses to
reveal and trusting that even our moments of uncertainty are
part of the Creator’s benevolent plan for us. As today’s
psalm declares, “you will show me the path to life.” What
else do we really need to know?
Stewardship News: The readings today speak of the end
of the world and the coming of the kingdom. The bishops’
pastoral on stewardship says clearly that “life to come is in
continuity with this present life through the human goods,
the worthy human purposes, which people foster now.”

THANKSGIVING DAY CELEBRATION: This year, for the
first time, our Tri-Parish Catholic Community will come
together as one family to celebrate Thanksgiving. You
are invited to gather around the Lord’s table with the
members of your faith family for a special celebration of
the Eucharist on Thanksgiving Day at 9AM at St. Ann
Church. Eucharist means thanksgiving. What a great
way to begin your holiday festivities by participating at
the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. At the Offertory, everyone will be invited to bring forward a donation of nonperishable food items to benefit our St. Vincent DePaul
food pantry.
Pope Francis writes in The Joy of the Gospel: “Our
world is being torn apart by wars and
violence, and wounded by a widespread individualism which divides human beings, setting them against one
another as they pursue their own wellbeing….I especially ask Christians in
communities throughout the world to
offer a radiant and attractive witness of
fraternal communion. Let everyone
admire how you care for one another
and how you encourage and accompany one another….Let us ask the Lord to help us understand the
law of love. How good it is to have this law! How
much good it does us to love one another in spite of
everything….and perhaps at this very moment we are
angry with someone. At least let us say to the Lord:
‘Lord, I am angry with this person, with that person. I
pray to you for him and for her.’ To pray for a person
with whom I am irritated is a beautiful step forward in
love, and an act of evangelization. Let us do it today!” (99 & 101)
