Interesting facts about Crna Trava
Crna Trava’s famous, high-qualified bricklayers erected
some of the most beautiful buildings across the former
Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. In Belgrade,
they constructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the
central Post Office. Looking for work, they travelled
across the country, and built all highest chimneys.
The municipal potential lies on clean environment,
production of organic food, but also mini power plants
as environmental sources of renewable energy, rural
development and sports tourism.

RECENT SUCCESS
Improved Municipal Services to Residents
The Citizens’ Assistance Centre in Crna Trava was established
with the financial support from the European Union and the
Government of Switzerland through EU PROGRES. The
residents of this municipality are able to obtain rapid and
quality services from the municipal administration in one
place. Crna Trava contributed with 5,100 EUR to the
construction and equipping of the Citizens Assistance
Centre, which cost 40,333 EUR.
The Centre verifies documents, signatures and stamps,
receives and registers all submissions to the municipal
administration, issues copies of birth, marriage, death and
citizenship certificates and provides professional assistance
and other services that significantly contribute to addressing
the citizens’ and companies’ requests.

The construction and equipping of the Citizens’ Assistance Centre
improves the quality and efficiency of municipal administration
and provides better service delivery to citizens and businesses.
After the employees were trained, the CAC bacome “a front desk“
of the administration.
Detailed Regulation Plan for Sokolica
The Plan, which covers five hectares, creates conditions for further
sustainable development of Sokolica, where the municipality plans to
construct facilities for sports and recreation, and allow building of
weekend houses.

Protection of the Vlasina River basin –
Waste water treatment Crna Trava
This project eliminated the disposal of the waste waters to the Vlasina
River, while other benefits included a connection of 35 new users to the
sewage, reduction of failures of the system by 20%, increased budget of
the Public Utility Company from communal charges by 5% in the first
year, and controlled and complete treatment of waste water improved
by 15% until the end of 2014.
