Many boat manufacturers disassociate themselves from used boat sales. The potential problems are too onerous, especially if the builder
used cheap parts and systems in the first place.
A few years can turn a poorly-built multi-million dollar yacht into a multi-million dollar

Dave Balfour, working out of

to the Nordhavn sales experience. Avid fisherman, sailor, skiing aficionado and rumored to
play a pretty mean bongo, Dave is one of the
more technically/mechanically knowledgeable
salesmen at Nordhavn, and his clients and

salesman. In fact, Nordhavn 43 owner Jim
Fuller "hired" Dave to serve as crewmember
on last year's Med Bound voyage specifically

Also in the Northeast office we have Ben Sprague,

It’s a far cry from the typical practice of brokers in cutthroat brokerage houses, but Ben is
happiest when he knows his clients have been

Ben began cruising at age15 aboard a 75year-old Danish cargo ketch from the Gulf of
Mexico to the mosquito coast of Honduras.
Since then his ocean voyaging has taken him
from Newport to Newfoundland, across the
Atlantic, half a dozen times to Bermuda and
into the teeth of a late season hurricane in the
Bermuda Triangle. Enduring hundred-knot
winds and forty-foot seas Ben and three shipmates survived their boat’s sinking with an
eight-foot dinghy, a lot of luck and the timely
arrival of a Cuban tanker. Thirty years and a
successful marine industry sales career later,
