Hello TOA,
We are coming to the end of summer. We had our last Family night and I want
to say thanks to all of the PC’s that stepped up and helped cook and to everyone that
helped to make the night successful. Since we were not able to slice and dice at the
club a special thanks to all that stepped up to make sure we had lettuce, tomatoes
and cheese for our burgers.
The International Cruise to Port Orchard was a lot of fun! The food was wonderful,
a lot of variety but all delicious and the decorated boats were wonderful. Our next
cruise is the Fall Camper Cruise to Teamsters on Harstine Island, with golf Saturday
morning and a Chili cook off and dessert auction. With all the good cooks in this club
it should be a great auction, the cruise should be a lot of fun!
September is here and that means elections, the Save TOA Committee has stepped
up and done a wonderful job of getting the ramps open for use, but now it is time for
the members to step up and fill board positions. If the board is not filled there will be
no TOA. There were a lot of people that came out to the meetings that wanted to
see TOA open up so that boats could be launched, now it is time that you step up and
help with the running of the club. We have been lucky that we had members Calley
Goodrich step up and take on the challenge of putting together the Outboarder, help
with minutes and finish the year as Corresponding Secretary as well as Dave Antonson stepping up as a Trustee. But we need more people to step up and run for the
bridge officer positions, without a board the club cannot continue on. Please help
secure our future!

Ahoy TOA.
Well the end of summer is quickly coming upon us. With that being said our next cruise will be the fall camper
cruise at Teamsters campground on Harstine Island. The dates for the cruise are 23-25 Sept. Please see the flyer
in this Outboarder for all of the details. If someone would like to chair this cruise please get in touch with me.
It is also that time of year again to start the slates for next year’s board. The board is very crucial for the continued operation of this
club. We have been through a lot of stuff this year, and it will take a full and strong board to keep us going. We still have an uncertain future before us but I am confident that with everyone’s help we can work through all issue’s that we face. This is your club so
please consider stepping up to fill a position on the board. All positions are open. If you would like to volunteer please let me know.
I will be working over the next few weeks to get the board slate filled. Also I am looking for someone to volunteer to run the floor
slate this is a separate slate selected from the membership. The slate will be presented at the first meeting in Oct and the voting
will happen at the second meeting in Oct.
See you on the water

Rear Commodore’s Report:
Ahoy TOA.
Well, summer is well into its late stages but the weather has been great. The boating has been awesome. We have had three
great family nights. I would like to thank everyone for bringing great potluck dishes and of course the PC’s for cooking the
hamburgers and hotdogs and serving.
Boating safety; with all of this great weather I know that the ramps will be busy. Please be courteous with your fellow boaters.
Offer a help hand when you can, and above all please be patient.
See you on the water

we have 6 seats left on the bike. Please let Sherri know ASAP to reserve a seat. It was a lot of fun last time so we’re looking

Things that need to be done at TOA :
Weed eat the hill up to the bridge
Cut the Blackberries along the bridge and along the fence
Clear the ramps of debris such as driftwood or anything that might wash up on the ramps. If you have a chainsaw, cutting up the

Repaint the line at the top of the hill for entering and exiting the main gate
Clean around the fishing table, make sure the hoses are good no leaks, and that the tables are clean no debris around the table.
Painting the flag pole (Contact Don Winnett, he has the paint for this project.)
Mowing the lawns
Pruning the bushes
Pulling weeds in front of the building and along the flush out stations.
Blowing the pine cones and debris in the parking lot
There is an old bee’s nest in a bush at the south east corner of the clubhouse (on the road in) it is empty in case you see it.
