Pojavom novih širokopojasnih usluga (brzi pristup Internetu, video na
zahtjev, učenje na daljinu, kućna kupovina, TV prijenos, rad na daljinu...) te
samim povećanjem količine informacija koje se svakodnevno razmjenjuju
(Internet, e-mail) postavljaju se sve veći zahtjevi za prijenos podataka.
Zahtjev za većom brzinom prijenosa nameće potrebu veće širine
prijenosnog pojasa kako bi se što više informacija po jednom kanalu moglo
prenijeti u što kraćem roku i postigla zadovoljavajuća kvaliteta usluge
(QoS). Danas se teži implementaciji xDSL tehnologija koje nam osiguravaju
veliku širinu prijenosnog pojasa.

DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) tehnologija pomoću sofisticiranih modulacijskih shema dovodi širokopojasne usluge u naše domove i razne poslovne subjekte (tvrtke, industrija, državne institucije, škole…).
Postojeća mrežna infrastruktura ne zadovoljava stvarne prijenosne potrebe. Stoga se preporučuju ispitivanje postojeće kabelske infrastrukture i
zamjena barem 500 m pristupnog dijela mreže novim xDSL kabelima kako
bi se povećali prijenosni kapaciteti i poboljšale performanse same mreže.
Kako se, međutim, svakim danom broj korisnika u sustavu povećava,
djelomična zamjena infrastrukture uskoro neće zadovoljavati prijenosne
potrebe. Najbolje je rješenje zamjena kompletne mreže novim xDSL
kabelima, jer današnjim ulaganjem u mrežu osiguravamo kapacitete za
buduće potrebe, što u konačnici smanjuje troškove i pruža mogućnost
širenja mreže na nove korisnike i nove usluge bez dodatnih ulaganja.

Advanced Solutions for New Technologies
The appearance of new broadband services (quick access to Internet,
video at request, learning at distance, home shopping, TV transmission,
working at distance…), and the very increase of the daily exchanged
information quantity (Internet, e-mail) poses increasingly higher requirements on the data transmission. The required higher speed of transmission
imposes the need for a broader width of the transmission band which
supports the shortest transmission of information per one channel and the
achievement of the satisfactory quality of the service (QoS). Nowadays, the
emphasis is laid on the implementation of xDSL technologies which secure
the broad width of the transmission band.

By means of sophisticated modulation schemas DSL (Digital Subscriber
Line) technology conveys broadband services into our homes and into various business entities (companies, industry, state institutions, schools…).
The existing network infrastructure does not meet the actual transmission
needs. In order to increase the transmission capacity and improve the performances of the very network, the existing cable infrastructure should be
tested and at least 500 m of the access segment of the network should be
exchanged by the new xDSL cables. However, considering the daily increased number of the users in the system, a partial exchange of the infrastructure soon won't be able to meet the transmission needs. The best
solution is the exchange of the entire network by the new xDSL cables, as
the present investment into the network secures the capacities for the
future needs, and in the end reduces the expenses and enables the
broadening of the network to the new users and the new services without
further investments.
